This past Saturday evening, my wife, friend and I were heading to the NYC Winter Festival of Lights at the grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art just under a mile away from Hendrick's Tavern, (btw, this Festival of Lights was very disappointing, but that's a different review). So earlier I decided to make a reservation at Hendrick's Tavern for 1800 hours that Saturday evening, and it was fortuitous that I did, it was completely booked (it's always a very positive start when a restaurant is full and doesn't have any further openings) but fortunately for us someone canceled and I was able to garner the 1800 hour slot. We arrived a bit late, around 1810. We were greeted outside by the friendly valet guys: Javier, Miguel & Luis. Inside we were greeted by the host Jaime, he was cordial, he took us to our table, next to a beautiful view towards their garden. As soon as we sat down Joel came over to offer us drinks, my wife and friend opted for non-alcoholic drinks, but since I wasn't driving I decided to get a cocktail: Spicy Passion Margarita. It was fantastic! It contained the right amount of spiciness, passion fruit and liquor. Chip (our server) stopped by to take our orders. He's a personable, amiable and knowledgeable young man. For appetizer my wife ordered Roasted Bone Marrow. It came with thin slices of perfectly toasted garlic bread. The bone marrow was succulent and tasty. For the main dish she opted for Cornish Hen with Spinach, I got the Branzino with sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms, as well as a side order of Truffle Fries. My wife's Cornish Hen looked so gorgeous, golden brown and so crispy on the outside and yet surprisingly tender inside, full of flavor. My whole Branzino was expertly deboned, crispy mouthwatering skin and succulent flavorful meat. Our Spinach and Mushrooms were superbly sauteed with the right balance of garlic and salt. My Truffle Fries had true Truffles, were most places gives you a bit of Truffle flakes, Hendrick's Tavern smothers it in pure Truffles. It was a highlight! Too bad this fantastic restaurant is located in Long Island, over 90 minutes from us, if it were much closer we would eat there every weekend!

Went late hoping for a quick bite with my mom. It was the closest to our hotel open that late. Ordered a few apps, as it was 10pm. The Ahi Tuna Poke ($23) was AMAZING. The caesar salad ($14) was, well, a caesar salad... but my mom and I were big fans of the dressing (whether bought or homemade... don't care). Unfortunately the beef carpaccio ($17) left much to be desired. It was a bit thicker than expected (no big deal, but just.. unexpected), and parts were still frozen (or just absurdly cold and hard..). It looked amazing, but under the beef was shaved Parmesan cheese. I'm very happy I looked at it first, as there was for sure mold (very small) on one piece. We told the manager, who apologized profusely, and took it back to the kitchen. Hey. It happens. Late at night and just get it out. Thirteen years experience have taught me that. It. Happens. The problem was when he came back and tried to say it was plastic from the casing. In the middle of the cheese. He said he was personally relieved, but it makes me feel less okay eating plastic than mold to be honest. At home I'd have just tossed and continued. but this place was not $ as google says... More like $$$. He offered to take it off or bring another, and I chose another, because food. The beef was warmer (I mentioned that too), and it was mold/plastic free. Now. Yes I am giving three stars. The three is for the tuna alone. Additionally I told my boyfriend I do want to go for our anniversary, because I like spending frivolously on delicious food. But will for sure be keeping an eye out. I am looking for five stars. I absolutely think they're capable. Food does mold, again, it happens, and we can't always catch it, it was a small spot, however an apology and offer to remake is better than telling me it is plastic. Manager was very nice though. Service was okay. No, I didn't take a picture of the cheese, and wouldn't share if I did, but look at that awesome mound of beef. And the tuna took up a whole plate when poured out.

Hendricks Tavern is a not so hidden gem in the heart of Roslyn. Service here is spot on from the valet attendants, host, and wait staff they all made us feel welcome from the start. The ambience is warm, laid back and relaxing! My wife had been been looking forward to trying Hendricks Tavern for some time and her birthday seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. We made reservations the day prior and had asked to be seated outside given the expected nice weather. When we arrived we were seated without any issues even though there had been a couple of people ahead of us. The food was excellent!!! We ordered the zucchini and eggplant chips, fried calamari, and a pizza for my son as appetizers and they were all very delicious. My son had to fight us off from stealing a slice or two from his pizza pie. Main courses for our group included their Tavern BBQ Ribs and the 30oz Tomahawk Rib Eye steak which my wife and I split. Both dinner dishes were excellent. We ordered creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and hash browns as our sides. All were very tasty but the hash browns were a little crunchy and not the best that we have had. Dessert included carrot cake and homemade apple crisp which were super delicious! The wait staff were very friendly and sang my wife happy birthday when they brought out her dessert. Thank you it was a very nice touch! Overall great food, great service, and a super relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend you give this place a try and I know you will not be disappointed. Thanks again to everyone at Hendricks Tavern for making all of us feel special and more importantly my wife's birthday dinner a night to remember.

I heard many things about this place. But it was finally time to try it for myself. It was another birthday outing for my group of 8. We ended up outdoors - normally I avoid that given the weather induced anxiety. Fortunately the weather was surprisingly - warm with the occasional cool breeze. First of all it has a beautiful outdoor patio marred only by the occasional fire truck screaming by. The inside was deceptively large and simultaneously held a wedding reception that day. Today’s drink was a G&T. Actually pretty tasty for such a simple drink. I have given up on ordering crab cakes in NY but it called to me to give it a try. For entree I ordered the skirt steak. Note nobody that night had any clue of what’s good here so there were no expectations. Fortunately, the crab cakes lived up to their description and indeed it was true lump crab meat! It was a good sized portion and satisfyingly fresh. The skirt steak was a good sized portion accompanied by a roasted head of garlic. It was cooked perfectly medium as requested and frankly, it was delicious and juicy. We shared the desserts - key lime pie, apple crisp and some chocolate cake. The first two were excellent. Key lime was tart. The apple crisp was sweet with a crumbly crisp on top served in a mason jar. The chocolate cake was honestly a little pedestrian. But overall, it was an excellent meal in a beautiful environment. You should come try if you haven’t already.

Growing up my family always had Easter dinner at the George Washington Manor. It was so sad when it closed. When the location reopened as Hendrick’s Tavern, we couldn’t wait to try it. The first time my fiancé and I went there was for my birthday. We loved it so much we selected it as the venue for our intimate, family wedding. The staff there is amazing. Kaylee their events coordinator answered all my emails and many questions right away. The restaurant was very easy to work with. The venue had the room partially decorated for us, so our whole event required minimal planning. The food served during our wedding was absolutely fantastic and there was plenty of it. So many of our family and friends are still talking about what a great time they had almost two months later. Jorge, our maitre’d for the party, kept our event flowing beautifully. We were really so happy with everything. I would have any family event at Hendrick’s again. They made such beautiful memories for us and all the serving staff were incredibly attentive during the reception. Last night my husband and I went to Hendrick’s for a date night. The staff at the greeting station recognized us, welcomed us and really went out of their way to make our night out special. Overall, a great place to eat, have a family event or enjoy a special evening.

Hendrick’s Tavern is truly a dining experience that never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, refined atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming. The blend of historic charm and modern luxury creates the perfect setting for a memorable night out. The food? Outstanding. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted and absolutely delicious. From the perfectly cooked steaks to the fresh seafood and decadent sides, the flavors are rich, balanced, and satisfying. Their truffle mac and cheese and crab cake starters are must-tries, and don’t even get me started on the desserts—pure indulgence. The service is top-tier: professional, attentive, and genuinely hospitable without being overbearing. Whether you’re there for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just a night of elevated dining, the staff ensures every detail is just right. Hendrick’s Tavern isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a Long Island gem that delivers consistently excellent food, ambiance, and service. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy an exceptional night out.
