If I could rate La Bottega in Carle Place a 10 I would. They hosted a party of 14 people celebrating 5 birthdays this past Sunday. Joe, the owner, arranged for a fantastic team to handle the party. Filipe (the chef), Anthony and Lisbeth were amazing. I don't know how Lisbeth managed not to make one single mistake, or Felipe to prepare all dishes perfectly but they did. Anthony worked quietly behind the scene to coordinate everything. And Joe, the owner, called to be sure all was going smoothly. Ordering off the full menu, everyone raved about their meal and the portions were so large that everyone had enough to take home. The cakes, carrot and chocolate mousse, were prepared that same morning and as stuffed as everyone was most of us had a piece of both. Thank you! Joe, Lisbeth, Anthony and Felipe for a perfect party and laughter and memories that will last a life time.
With appreciation, Judy
I tried to add a new review but couldn't figure it out and so I'm editing my first post to include my second big party at Cafe Mauro: Turning 75 years old was made much easier, let me rephrase, was made GREAT by having a gathering of close family and friends at Mauro’s Café in Carle place.
This was our second time gathering at Café Mauro and for the second time the food was perfect. Although a large group we were allowed to order anything we wanted off the menu. Lisbeth, our lovely server, did a wonderful job. All orders were perfect, served hot and served with humor and grace. The food was so outstanding that we had to give a standing ovation to the chef who was shocked but I hope realized how amazing he is.
Anthony, the manager, coordinated the entire party also perfectly with a joy in seeing it go so well with everyone having a great time. Especially the birthday girl who let loose with just a little of their powerful sangria.
Thanks also to Joe, the owner, whose care about quality and good service is infectious.
Café Mauro does not cut corners and is highly recommended! ...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I frequent the Roslyn location which we love. It's been closed since the pandemic started so we thought we'd try another La Bottega expecting the same standard of food. The Carle Place location was a watered down with subpar food and service compared to Roslyn. The mozzarella sticks at Roslyn are made from scratch with fresh cheese and you can taste it; the ones in Carle Place are store bought/cheap frozen and we were given over 15 for two people. We tried one and couldn't eat them. Instead of the baked ravioli that we love in Roslyn, we were served cold ravioli, with cold mozzarella chunks thrown on top and a very muddled red sauce with everything but the kitchen sink in it. Took a bite and asked for the check. The server did not ask how the food was and charged us for all the food. Poor service and food, a huge disappointment of a meal.
If you're looking for a Roslyn replacement, Carle...

The restaurant has been completely renovated and is so beautiful with it's pictures adorning the walls of the family it's cozy and also has bigger tables for larger parties. The food is still absolutely delicious and you get really great portions,we started with an appetizer of baked clams, for dinner I had the bronzino over risotto and vegetables and my husband had tagliatelle over meat sauce we also had dessert a beautiful satin cake with chocolate buttons Decadent for sure! Don't forget to get a cappucino or espresso, Mamma Mia everything was so good! ...
