Nyack Social Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

I generally avoid leaving negative reviews for local businesses, especially in a location that has experienced so much turnover in recent years, but unfortunately, Nyack Social has left us with little choice. We truly enjoy the food—it's clear they have an excellent chef—but the management of their delivery process has been consistently problematic since they first opened.

We’ve ordered delivery numerous times, and while we’ve opted to dine in when possible, almost every delivery has had missing items. Despite this, the quality of the food has kept us coming back, though admittedly less often due to the unreliable packing.

Today, after waiting 45 minutes for our order, we received a cancellation notice stating that one item was missing. My husband called to inquire about the missing item, hoping to work with them on finding a replacement, but the person on the other end of the line abruptly hung up on him. When we attempted to call back from both of our phones, the line was a busy signal as if the phone had been left off the hook.

I understand the restaurant may have been overwhelmed, but a brief conversation would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to the conclusion that we will no longer be ordering from Nyack Social, either for delivery...

First time here last night and was pleasantly surprised. Nyack Social is getting 4 stars for the location (right on Main St.), the ambiance (nice atmosphere and music) and the prices were good. To start, we ordered the Pork Belly appetizer which was good, crispy pieces of pork belly with plaintain chip fries/sticks. I ordered the Smoked Chocolate Negroni, which was very well presented. It kept a smokey smell in the glass the entire time, which was a nice touch. For dinner, we ordered the Short Ribs and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Both dishes were presented extremely nicely, but we weren't in love with either. The short ribs were quite a bit fattier than I'm used to, which made the entire dish a bit disappointing. The creamy mashed sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts were quite good though. The Grilled Chicken on the sandwich was good, but it came on a foccacia like bread, which didn't go over well.

We will definitely give this place another go and try other things...

Unfortunately a new business running city scams just to make a buck literally robbing the very locals who support all the restaurants in Nyack. My group of 5 kept ordering drink after drink to have them swiped by their staff so u keep buying more. They automatically give u your check before asking, as they say they’ve had problems where customers have walked out on checks, but they’ve only been in business for 2 months! Lol. The locals from town in our group could not believe the unprofessional and compete rudeness by owner and bartender. So much so that the owner was unable to address why his business try’s to take advantage of the locals who live and patronize the restaurants each day. So sad as we want new restaurants to succeed in town but unfortunate unethical businesses...
