Tappan Sushi & Sashimi — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

I went to Tappan Sushi with my husband for lunch who is from Uruguay. He was not into korean, japanese type food but that changed it all when we first came here. I am korean and i need to have my korean food and japanese sushi, sashimi!!!Always great food and service is great. This is our 5th or 6th visit. There are 2 very attentive and friendly waitresses and they are always working. Super great people. Also the sushi chef, the same sushi chef when i go there always greets us when we come in. That is how it should be, greeting customers in a friendly manner. One big thumbs up, the food comes right away, that is the way all restaurants should be. Plus, extremely fresh fish and all the foods i have tried. Cant say enough good things about this restaurant. The Restroom is super clean,smells like fresh Clorox which means they clean it daily. Not your typical sushi restaurant. Definitely not a buffet. It's a korean style joint. Bring your credit cards because it's not cheap. I always get the live fish sashimi. Usually $150 for 2 people. If you order drinks, the total goes way up. If you order the live fish sashimi, you automatically get the tsukiyaki. Its various side dishes like tempura, fried fish, creamy corn and etc. Then you get the sashimi plate, beautifully decorated on top of sliced radish. You also get a serving of fish bone broth. Its spicy and perfect with soju. You'll love the experience if you have never been to one...

Don’t be fooled by the name of the restaurant. This amazing place has authentic Korean cuisine and the fact that you can get Japanese along with it makes it a double threat. My wife and I had Korean soup & stew, I love all the side garnishes that come with all the Korean dishes. We continued with a sashimi dish that completed the meal.
