Omg what an amazing restaurant! Between the food, drinks, & service...5 stars all the way! Located in Massapequa, there is limited parking in the area. They have outdoor tables and a tent set up which takes up the majority of the parking lot. There is street parking close by. Inside, there is a large bar, and tables scattered throughout. They take reservations on Opentable. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted at the door and seated. I loved the decor and theme of the restaurant. The prices are wonderful. Drinks range from $10-$13. Food is reasonably priced and the portions are HUGE! Even desserts weren’t a killer on the wallet. The service was top notch. Our server Lindsay was super friendly and attentive. We were given a carafe of water for the table which was refilled often. She also gave soda refills and offered other drink refills. She kept checking on the table. The ticket times were awesome. All of the food came out at a steady pace. The drinks were delicious. I had a Bloody Mary which wasn’t overly spicy, but the Choking Doberman was extremely spicy (which I enjoyed). The Hurricane drink was delicious! 5 out of 5 stars on all of the drinks. & Free soda refills. The food was so good! If your a fan of spicy flavorful foods, this place is for you! Some of the dishes weren’t spicy, but the majority of them were (which I loved). The portions were great. Everything came out hot & fresh! I will be reviewing what I tried: -Complimentary fresh bread & herb butter, delicious! -Mussels Lucifer: Wow these were so tasty. The broth was spicy and full of flavor. The mussels were cooked perfectly. I took some of the bread and dipped into that amazing broth. 5 out of 5 stars -Pretty Megs Wings: These were cooked to perfection! The sauce had a little zing to it but nothing crazy. The chipotle sauce was out of sight. 5 out of 5 stars -Chicken Fried Steak: Wow I’m so happy I chose this entree. The fried steak was delicious, the sausage gravy was delectable, and the cheddar mashed potatoes were out of sight. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. 5 out of 5 stars -Blackened Ribeye from Hell: Yes this is 100% worth the $$. This steak was huge and cooked perfectly! Make sure to bring your appetite for this behemoth. The rub was a little spicy and packed with flavor. The collard greens were some of the best I’ve ever had. 5 out of 5 stars -PB&J Pie: No wonder this is famous! This was so delicious. I can’t wait to get it again. 5 out of 5 stars -Chocolate Layer Cake: Big fan of layer cakes, and this one didn’t disappoint! 5 out of 5 stars -Bananas Foster: My fiancé’s dessert was brought to the table and I could not resist. It looked so good that I had to try a bite. It tasted as good as it looked. 5 out of 5 stars Overall, my first trip to Big Daddy’s was a memorable one. I can’t wait to come back. I’m planning on coming during the Wednesday Prime Rib special next!

Finally dined here, but was a little disappointed based on all of the reviews. Parking here is very limited, especially when this restaurant and the neighboring restaurants are busy. The decor and atmosphere is eclectic and appropriate. Service was ok; no staff greeted us after entering the restaurant and we were standing and waiting for some staff interactions with us, but was unsure who were staff/servers (all while the restaurant appeared mostly empty). After a little while, we were told by someone sitting at the bar (who appeared to be a patron with a beverage) to choose any available table and that someone will be with us soon. The wait was not long for service though and did get a little better afterwards. The blackened gator appetizer was not perfectly done, some pieces were tender, but some were slightly tough and a bit chewy. The sauce for it tasted very acidic too. The gumbo was actually very delicious. The creole jambalaya dish was good, but needed some more flavor and some garnish for presentation. The seafood étouffée also needed more flavor/spices; some pieces of the crawfish tasted overcooked and the shrimp was not succulent. The Louisiana shrimp and grits dish was very good, especially the habanero-goat cheese grits. The habanero oil and other hot sauces served on the side did help add some heat and flavor to some dishes. Our group shared the bananas foster dessert, which was actually outstanding. Did not meet our overall expectations based on the reviews and what were presented, though there are some positive aspects. Do like there are some daily specials and live music on certain days/time.

Went for dinner on Friday night and 6/6:15pm is the perfect time to arrive as we were seated right away and the restaurant was still quite empty. The music started at 7pm and that is when it started to get very crowded so get there early and hang out for the music. The place definitely has a great vibe and atmosphere. We ordered the pasta jambalaya, the pig out, and a side of grits. I was torn between the pasta jambalaya and shrimps and grits. I ended up choosing the pasta with a side of grits and it was definitely the right choice. The pasta was delicious and a nice portion, it was quite spicy on its own and we almost asked for extra spicy(I would not recommend getting it any hotter). The pasta also was delicious leftover a few days later. The grits were a great choice as side, they were fluffy and delicious. They did not taste spicy while I was eating them but when I reheated them the next day they did. I did see someone who ordered the shrimps and grits and it looked quite soupy and I do not think you would really get to enjoy the taste of the grits with that meal. The mussels also looked extremely delicious. As for the pig out, I have ordered similar meals at other restaurants so I was expecting a very large amount of food but when it came I was underwhelmed by the amount that they gave. It was still a good amount of food but nowhere near what I was expecting but all of the items were very delicious and cooked very nicely. If I had to choose one I would definitely go with the brisket. Next time for the price I would probably just order 2 different sandwiches as opposed to the pig out.

Big daddys is one of our families favorite places to eat. We live in the neighborhood. Tonight my friends drove all the way to massapequa from manorville bc we told them how much we like the food. Well unfortunately we never got to try the food. We had to get our food to go. We were a party of 7 and we waited so long for service that we didnt even get to eat our food there we had to get it to go. We were there for 2 hours between waiting for the server to take our order, waiting for drinks and apps we didnt get our entrees. I had to ask for refills, ask them to take our order, ask for our food after 40 minutes, and we felt like we were anoying...when we asked for our food to go after waiting for 40 minutes you can tell they made it on the fly and it def wasn't as good as it normally is. My sons food which we ordered when we first walked in was wrong and over cooked. I usually love this place and recommend it to everyone but im not sure anymore. Everyone, not just the servers even the managers seemed to be miserable. We tried to get their attention but they would even look our way. I get if everyone is having an off night, our whole table worked or still works in the food industry but basically we wasted 2 hours and spent $100 on take out. I was so disappointed in hospitality. We will see if we go back. If i do it will be bc the food there is amazing not the service. Also my friends just finished their meals and said they didnt come out right and was way too spicy(they couldnt eat it and they eat spicy food all the time) My friend was raving to her husband for 2 years about this place and now he refuses to go back. We are just really...
