Allow me to start out by saying the food is normally great. My issue is with the customer service. I called ahead for my food to avoid the line. When I got there my food was just getting done, but I had to wait in line for 10 minutes watching my food get cold on the counter. The whole point of calling ahead at any restaurant is to not have to wait in a long line. When I asked why I had to wait in line I got rude responses. I then asked to speak to a manager. The lady at the counter asked what she could help me with. I started to explain my frustration she then tells me she's not the manager and she'll have the manager call me. So then the owner calls me and rudely kept cutting me off while I was trying to explain my frustration. Told me I was wrong and how I felt and that if I didn't like it to just not call ahead. I then said that I've worked in the restaurant business for many years and that most places are not organized the way she is organized. She then hung up on me. She clearly did not care about me as a customer. Most places have a person on register and a person on grill making food. This place makes the food individually every order. They take your order then go make it. This is a slow and monotonous way to run a business. They should have somebody on register just taking orders that would prevent a long wait especially for people who call ahead. Due to my customer service experience I would never recommend this restaurant to anybody. If the owner had just been nice and listened to how I felt I would have forgiven and probably continued to frequent the establishment. The owner needs to take some classes on customer service and how to properly...
Read moreGoogle says that this place has dining in option. So we went, expecting to sit at one of their many tables . Only after I placed my order did I realize all the tables had signs that read "take out only" and the bathrooms had "closed" signs on them. Everywhere a sign. Too bad I missed the tiny sign on the vestibule door that said no dining. I think a huge Take Out Only sign would be more noticeable. I showed the staff that Google has them listed as dining-in. They called the manager over and she told me that she has nothing to do with the Google thing. I told her as a business owner it's easy to update the google information so patrons like myself don't come in thinking I could sit down. She was dismissive and annoyed that I pointed this out to her and offered me a refund. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted someplace to sit and eat my meal since I had already ordered and paid for it. I was traveling, so not like I had the option of taking my meal home and sitting at a table and chair like a human being.
Then some other nasty couple got very threatening towards us, cursing us out in the parking lot and telling us to go back to where we came from.
Nope, never going back there. Oh, and the bagels are not good. I'm from NYC, and wasn't expecting a great bagel. But when I see dark everything bagels in the bin, and ask for a dark everything bagel, and the staff wrote down dark, and then they give me a pale one, they clearly aren't doing their job (and giving me the pale bagel was before I spoke to the manager, so they weren't being spiteful, just...
Read moreSecond time here. Kitchen of 5 people and I stood there for at least 5 minutes and no one addressed me though I tried to catch someone’s eye. Mind you, the place is small so it’s not like I’m easy to miss standing at the counter. The first person who spoke to me said they were on break and someone else will help me and walked off before I could answer. There were 2 people in front of me who already ordered and just me waiting. I then had to watch the other 4 women working chit chat while they each walked by flipping the same 5 bacon strips on the grill, but not really doing anything else. I order Lox on a bagel mentioned it was the sandwich with no capers or lettuce and when I get to my car see it was only lox and cream cheese. I went back to specify I wanted onion and tomato on my bagel as is customary with the lox and the counter person says “you need to specify next time.” I did. I said sandwich. I said what not to put on it. I tried telling her I didn’t have an issue when I was there before and halfway through my sentence she turns to another customer to take their order. I’ve never felt so unwelcome....
