My Wife and I came here for late night snacks with our friends on our way home in Commack from NYC yesterday @11:30pm. Both our families have been coming to Premier Diner over the 10+ years we have lived here. But no more.
I had ordered the chicken fingers plate from the appetizer menu. When the food arrived, I ate one of the smaller chicken fingers on the plate. After biting into the second chicken finger, I quickly realized that it was COMPLETELY RAW! Chicken was pink and not even close to being cooked through. Upon further investigation, it was clear that all of the chicken fingers on the plate were raw (see picture below).
I calmly let our waitress (Julia) know that my chicken was "undercooked." Her reaction after hearing this was totally out of line. She expressed her happiness that this happened because she supposedly had a problem with the cook and this was how she was going to get him/her back, at my expense. No mention of sorry or asking what I would like instead. She was just glad this happened and quickly wanted to show other waitresses on her way to the cook.
I had to flag her down again and say that I no longer wanted that or different chicken. Instead, I requested a basic grilled cheese (hard to mess up). When she brought this dish out, she mentioned that the best she could do to compensate me for this (remember, I wound up eating raw chicken before realizing it) was combine my side or curly fries into a meal with the grilled cheese, saving me $6 of the $20+ from my meal.
I then went to the manager/cashier desk to discuss this further with who seemed to be the night manager on duty. I calmly and respectfully recapped what happened. He then began to stand by that saving me $6 on the meal was "the best they could do." When I told him I had eaten raw chicken, he proceeded to deny this and lecture me that the chicken they serve is "Gold Medal Chicken" and that "it is pre-cooked and not raw." I then showed him the picture (below) and stated that this did not look pre-cooked and that any normal person would say that is raw chicken. He then begrudgingly went through the check and removed my grilled cheese and french fires from the bill while mumbling under his breath. He was extremely dismissive and reacted in a way that it was somehow my fault for being served raw chicken at his restaurant. Not once did he express any sort of apology for this.
Needless to say, I did not leave a tip for this experience and made that very clear to him. I also expressed that our party did not appreciate how he and the waitress handled this situation, and that we and all of our families will no longer be dining at Premier ever again before walking out.
There are plenty of other diners in/around the area that have better (cooked) food and much higher levels of customer service. Recommend avoiding Premier Diner at all costs, for your own health,...

I walked in at 9:30pm to a pretty packed dinner. I was seated and ready to order within a couple minutes. Unfortunately the waitress took her time coming over (perfectly understandable...I'm not her only table). Once I ordered, the food was actually prepared very quickly and came out right away. The food itself, like other reviews mention, is very good and well prepared. I would give the food itself 5 stars. However I easily waited half an hour before the waitress came back to check on me (no water/soda/napkin refills done at all over the course of the meal). At this point the place has emptied out and I'm the only one left in her area. I order dessert which again, is prepared quick, brought right out and tastes great. Again I need to wait another 20-30 minutes for the waitress to come back with the bill, at which point I can finally leave as the restaurant is closing up an hour and a half after I sat down. Overall the food is good but I had some bad service. I'd like to think that isn't the norm but it was still my experience. Besides the service, the food was still expensive ($17 for a sandwich, $4.50 for a side of fries, $3.50 for a soda, and $6.50 for dessert). If the service matched a $30+ meal I could see coming back but there are cheaper and nicer places...
Read moreI can’t believe the way we were treated at this diner The owner said it’s very stressful with the COVID-19 it should be stressful for us then you should close your diner they’re all stressful there I would pick a different Diner like the owner said their lots diners on Long Island he said we went there our food was cold hamburger was raw waitress yelling at us I never experienced that there sticking up for themselves and their waitress they shouldn’t do that we paid good money gave the waitress $10 tip even though the way she treated us we will never go back there and I don’t recommend it The waitress YELLING if you’re not ready I have other people I have to serve yelling it out for everyone to hear and she did that to the other customers
Very disappointed with the owners not having respect for us all we did was ask if we could sit on the left side and it was not ready so we took the right side no problem which was the worst thing we ever did thank God there’s other diners hopefully this won’t happen to someone else
My daughters on the on the front line worked all day to have something to eat and you get a raw hamburger and they get angry at us?
