I never received an answer to the email I sent on 12/29/24- here’s a copy of that-
Hello-
I dined with you earlier today and instead of writing a public review I would like to privately send my feedback.
I stopped in for a later lunch this afternoon (Sunday 12/29) food and waiter were great until check out. We were with my two toddlers, unfortunately with the kids, they do not last long dining out. No rush, but I asked our server if he could check us out and handed him my credit card. A few minutes later he brought my receipts and my credit card to sign. My card was charged more than I anticipated based on what we ordered but they did not give me an itemized receipt. In the booklet he handed me to sign was a charge slip showing total amount and a slot for me to add tip and sign. I walked up toward the kitchen and asked a young girl at the hostess stand if she can ask our waiter to bring over an itemized receipt. I watched as she spoke to our waiter and then came back to tell me “they can not do that”. I didn’t argue but I said I’d wait at the table until they could get me a copy. Something felt not quite right.
A few minutes later, a different gentleman other than our waiter handed a receipt to the people sitting next to us. By their confused faces I realized it must be what I was waiting on so they handed it over. As I was reviewing my itemized list the girl who said she “could not do this” came up to tell me they made a mistake and overcharged me. That they did not need my credit card again but the bill would be adjusted
Now, this could be an honest mistake but here’s what makes me think otherwise: I’ve never been to a restaurant where an itemized list was not given. I was told when I asked that an itemized list could not be generated, and that was after I saw a conversation with our waiter. Our waiter never came to our table to clear up any confusion.
Overall, i would hope that this was not an attempt to take advantage knowing I was a bit overwhelmed taking care of my two toddlers and may have seemed like I was in a rush. If I didn’t invest the extra time to stick around I would have just taken the receipts given to me which were charging me $25 more than what my actual bill was and I would have just keyed in my tip which would have been an additional $20. Your restaurant would have dishonestly taken $45. Not a high amount of money but if this is being done a few times a day this adds up.
Lastly, I’m not quite sure this was corrected. Currently, my charge card still shows the original amount charged as pending.
I’m looking forward to a...
Read morePreface: We literally came here from Manhattan to hang at this bar for 3 hours.
Tucked (conveniently) in the far corner of Sag Harbor at the end of a very charming, and quaint street you’ll find The Corner Bar. When you walk in for the first time it seems like you never left the home town beach pub you always knew and loved. If this is your first time in the hamptons you won’t even know you’re there. The green tables and brick walls really hit home to the over arching traditionally Irish pub theme. My girlfriend and I came in here mid day on a Saturday that was not only the first day of college football but also over Labor Day weekend. It wasn’t too packed but just busy enough to feel comfortable enough to have strange conversations.
So let’s dive in to everyone’s favorite part of a pub - the eats and the drinks. From the minute we sat down the heinekens and rose were flowing like the salmon of Capistrano. The first thing we have to say is the Appetizer menu is A1!! 10 out of 10 best I’ve ever come across. Ranging from a sophisticated clam dish to your diamond in the rough Mexican food truck quesadillas.
We started with the hot wings and motz sticks. The wings had a good ratio of meat. However, they were too breaded and they weren’t even remotely hot. Tosbasco is hotter, didn’t even need ranch to cool it down. Overall - 6.7/10.
The Mozzarella Sticks slapped pretty hard, no cap. They were huge and the marinara sauyce was ah-maze-ing. Only thing I’ll say is the sticks were deep fried a bit too much and the cheese wasn’t melted enough. Overall - 8.2
All in all, get me the hell out of Sag Harbor but if You’re ever stuck here for a night, The Corner Bar is the...
Read moreService was nonexistent. Food - bad - just go there for a drink if everywhere else is closed. We waited so long for a server to come to the table my date started to insist we had to order from the bartender. Finally a server arrives - we give him the whole order - brings the Bloody Mary and my PBR and I ask for a glass. Again server disappears, 20 minutes pass I stand up and ask bartender for a glass and he says rudely "get it from your server who is standing behind you, Im not your server" (the bartender was the over weight guy with glasses and the horrible attitude). The group of Argentinians at the bar watching the tennis match I over heard them start to laugh and say "they were happy its was not just them the bartender didnt like!"......LOL __ food was unseasoned and just bad. Oh I wish for the old days when people actually care about the service and food...
