My family and I were so excited to try this restaurant, however we were met with so much disappointment. The service here was beyond awful. When we first sat down, the bus boy brought us stale bread. We told him it was stale and he argued with me that it wasn’t. I pulled out another piece of bread to show him that I couldn’t even pull it apart it was so stale. He finally agreed that it was stale and said he would get us a different batch. Again it was stale. Our waiter took over 20 minutes to greet us and take our drink and appetizer orders. However, we waited patiently and the appetizer came out, but no drinks. The bottle of wine and sprite came out half way through eating our appetizer. The waiter never came back and we had to ask a bus boy to find him so we could put our dinner order in. We ordered our dinners and the waiter asked me if I wanted another sprite and I said I’d wait for my dinner. Once our dinner came out, we never saw our waiter throughout dinner, even after several requests to bus boys that we were looking for him because we wanted more drinks and another bottle of wine. We finally saw the waiter after our dinner plates and drink glasses were cleared. We ordered dessert and that was the last we saw of the waiter for the rest of the night. He didn’t even bring us our check or take it to run our credit cards. Someone else had to do it. Because of this horrible service, I will never come back here. This situation should be addressed. The food was fantastic and the decor...

Although open mostly in the evenings this summer, brunch is offered on Sundays and we enjoyed some of their regular menu items plus a superlative Lobster Eggs Benedict (2 perfectly poached eggs atop sliced ham over two English muffins plus (get this!) half a perfectly cooked Maine lobster. Over the top wonderful! We sampled five or six menu items in addition, including the nicely priced Jamon Iberico, an octet of Foxley River (PEI) Oysters on the half shell, Tomatoes on Toast (fun!), Italian BLT Salad (where the "B" is Burrata not bacon, and a superb local tuna crudo. All first rate. Let's hope Rocco makes the Post House his permanent Hamptons digs. ...
Read moreAnother five star review for this revelation in the Hamptons, where too many restaurants are average in quality, yet egregious in pricing. Not so here at Il Pellicano. Bravo to the supremely talented Rocco DiSpirito for sourcing and preparing truly delicious local food. I wish I had more photos than just the perfect crudités of organic veggies with its tarragon-tinged dipping sauce, but we dove too quickly into the outstanding nut-crusted halibut, the divine LOCAL red shrimp with a perfect tomato and garlic sauced pasta, and a ridiculously good chocolate gianduja crunch for dessert. Throw in a luscious Napa Valley Pinot Noir, super pleasant service, an attractive indoor and/or outdoor environment, and you have an exceptional dining...
