Zero stars for the food.

I have been to this restaurant many times and was always pleased with the food. Sure it is crowded but it has a good a vibe. I live in Southold so it is a convenient place to meet friends for lunch. Yesterday I ordered a salad with chicken on the top and dresing on the side.. When my order arrived It had lots of lettuce, a handful of breadcrumbs and a few pieces of chicken. I dug down further and at the bottom, I found a large piece of grizzle. I mean a very large piece of grizzle. No chicken meat on it at all. That must have been a huge chicken. So I caught the eye of the waiter and he said someone would be out soon. A woman comes to the table and I show her the LARGE PIECE of CHICKEN GRIZZLE and she says with a straight face that I ordered it with chicken on the top. No mention of the grizzle. Nope it it was all my fault because I ordered …wait for it…with chicken on the top . So I sat there wondering, should i have ordered it on the side? Perhaps I should’ve stated that I intensely dislike grizzlle and prefer chicken. Sadly there will be no next time for me. Too many fabulous restaurants to choose from. Off my list it goes. Maybe I need to call Santa and make sure it is not on his...

The customer service and management of this restaurant is atrocious. This restaurant is not accommodative for families with young children and if you have a family I would strongly discourage your family from dining at this establishment. My wife and I (and our 3 week old baby) came at 12pm on a Thursday right after the restaurant opened. There was not a single table sat (inside or outside) at the restaurant. Upon approaching the host and asking for a table for 2 outside the host said that there were no strollers allowed. When I questioned this, the manager hastily approached me and aggressively reiterated that there are no strollers allowed regardless of the baby. I told them that my baby was 3 weeks old and the stroller was the seat and that I couldn’t just hold the baby in my arms. They said no exceptions. I was flabbergasted by this lack of customer service and empathy and the aggressive nature of the management. Greenport is a summer destination for families, so for a restaurant to shun the business of a family is a shock to me. I will never give my business to this restaurant and would highly discourage families from attempting to sit at this...

I wish I could give a better review because honestly the food was great, but due to the service we received, 1 star is even too much. Our food took a full hour to come out after placing the order and the restaurant was practically empty. Keep in mind my fiancé and I ordered a black bean burger and a salad. Our waiter, Patrick, didn’t acknowledge our food taking so long and didn’t come to check in on us at all as we waited. A waitress (not ours) came over once she saw us looking around and apologized for our food taking so long and said it was because our waiter didn’t put our ticket in. Then 10 minutes later, when Patrick finally comes with our food, instead of apologizing and taking accountability, he says the food took a while because the black bean burger takes 25 minutes to cook and he didn’t like how it came out so he had them remake it. Like ????? Just straight up lied first of all, and second, why wouldn’t you tell us this during the hour we were sitting there waiting? The reason I am writing this review is mainly because he did NOTHING to acknowledge his own mistake and did not take a single thing...

➡️ First & South in #Greenport is an absolute must when you're North Fork bound this fall. 🍁🍃🍂 This locals favorite spot is open year round and offering some of the tastiest food items you'll ever try. Like the Lemon Pepper Shrimp I order every. single. time. It's one of my favorite dishes on the island. Located on First & South (aha!) just off the main strip in Greenport Village, the restaurant is incredibly cozy and beautiful. You can dine outside on the deck or in their tented side space. If you're looking for indoors, there's a bar & lounge area and the main dining space in the back, which is where I spent time with @STYLISH | FASHION + LIFESTYLE and @LIEATS during my most recent visit. Spoiler: they absolutely loved it like I knew they would 😉 I especially love stopping by during the fall because they provide blankets if you opt to sit outside. I did this with my sister-in-law for her bachelorette last October and it was a highlight for us. We enjoyed spicy margs and all the eats under blankets on a chill, crisp night. Not only is the food incredible, but the drinks are spot on, their daily specials are plentiful, and it's woman-owned (shoutout to Sarah Phillips Loth). Here's what's featured in the video: ➡️Lemon Pepper Shrimp • white wine garlic • parsley lemon butter • Parmesan • fusilli pasta • baguette • (highlight for me) ➡️Local Oysters • supplied with oysters from yennicott/southold, peconic gold/peconic, oysterpond shellfish co/orient & eel town oysters/shelter islands • ➡️Saffron Mussels • lemongrass • garlic • white wine • saffron steeped shallots • cream • fines herbs • toasted baguette • ➡️Passionfruit Margarita • silver tequila • fresh lime • curaçao • sweet & spicy rim • (this was a special the time we went) ➡️Espresso Martini • tito's • oro gold espresso • kahlua • lemon • #longisland #longislandnewyork

Everything about this place is so amazing. I can’t wait to go back. What we got: Burrata with confit tomato’s, (nut free) basil pesto with a side of crostini - 10/10. The burrata was creamy and delicious. The pesto was vibrant. The confit was sweet but savory adding a lovely touch. A Really Good Burger - it really was a really good burger. The patty was hearty and cooked to perfections. I added cheese and bacon. The bacon was THICK and delicious, definitely worth the extra money. First Fries - incredible skin on 3 times blanched fries. You’re able to add on sauces for dipping which is such a nice touch. We got the garlic aioli which was really acidic forward, truffle aioli which was divine with the right about of truffle, and the scallion remoulade which quickly became my fave dip after dip. Lemonade - it has the perfect balance of sweet but tartness. I could imagine having it on a hot day as a refreshing beverage. Overall, I highly recommend!!

Had a lovely experience at First and South in Greenport! I ordered the carrot soup, steak frites, and a peach iced tea infused with bourbon. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared – fresh flavors and satisfying portions. The peach iced tea was especially memorable, with a perfect hint of bourbon that added a unique twist. The ambiance is charming, fitting well with Greenport's quaint, small-town feel. As a nonbinary person, I appreciated the gender-neutral bathroom, which was spotless and inclusive. Service was attentive and personable, adding to the overall warmth of the place. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality. One note: the menu on Google Maps could use an update, but it’s easy to overlook with such a great in-person experience. Visited as part of an MTA Away/LIRR tour, and this spot was a definite highlight!
