The Yellow Parrot is a forgotten classic cocktail that’s due for a comeback! The original blend of equal parts absinthe, apricot liqueur, and yellow Chartreuse is potent and unusual, but somehow quite delicious! While frequenting one of my favorite bars, Evan Bucholz of Brix and Rye in Greenport NY whipped up his little riff on the classic and threw some tequila in there to take this drink to the next level! Save and Favorite THIS one! -1 oz Tapatio 110 Tequila -1 oz Yellow Chartreuse -1 oz Absinthe -3/4 oz Apricot Liquor -1 oz Pineapple Juice -3/4 Passion Fruit Syrup -3/4 oz Lime Juice -3 dashes of Tiki Bitters Whip shake and served over crushed ice, garnished with some fresh mint for an explosion of flavor! #drinkwithwayne #boozeandopinions #cocktailsandfun #drinkwithfriends #bartender #homebartender #tiki #tikidrinks #tikithursday #tikithursdays #tequila #tequilatok #tequilatiktok #agavetok #agavespirits #classiccocktails #cocktailrecipes

Tucked away in the heart of #GreenportVillage sits a #cocktailbar that delivers some of the best drinks on #LongIsland. Welcome to Brix and Rye🥃 If you’ve been out in the #greenport area before, you probably didn’t realize you passed it. It’s in a building that’s connected to 1943 Pizza Bar (you can order from here while you’re at B&R—and you should because the pizza is phenomenal) and American Beech. If you’re looking into the main entry of AB, the building is to your left. You wouldn’t even think to enter it—but now you will. Before we get into the look and vibe, there were already a handful of people outside waiting for the 5 p.m. opening. That’s how good this place is. The first floor features shuffleboard, two bathrooms, and a seating area. Ahead are stairs that lead you down into the Sunset Room. It gives full-on speakeasy vibes. I’m not going to describe it because you should watch for yourselves and then go for the experience. You’ll notice I did not use any lighting which is intentional—I want you to get a feel for what this place is and I didn’t want to disturb anyone’s experience there. Here’s what we sipped on: • #MaiTai: martiniquan rhum, Jamaican rhum, orgeat, curaçao, lime • Speed Reader: #tequila, bordiga aperitivo, genepy, lime, pineapple 🍍 • This one’s off the current menu, but it was dreamy • Iced Irish Coffee: Irish #whiskey, @noforoastingco coffee ☕️, shaken cream Brix & Rye opens at 5 p.m. every day except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the fall (closed). Get there right before opening to score a spot at the bar or at one of the tables. #LongIslandny #longislandnewyork #suffolkcounty #suffolkcountyny #northfork #northforklongisland #northforkli #northforkwine #northforkwinecountry #greenportny #brixandrye #1943pizza #americanbeech #drinksoftiktok #cocktailsoftiktok #longislandlife #longislandliving #longislandbusiness #longislandrestaurants

Love this place. Was visiting Orient by boat from Old Saybrook, CT (June 6, 2021) and heard about Brix and Rye. It's under an empty looking store front near the American Beech hotel in Greenport NY. Once you walk in there is shuffleboard on your right and the stairs to the bar are on the left. You feel like you are in a speakeasy basement…the lighting is dark and charming. This is probably the coolest bar I've been to on Long Island. It's tiny and can get crowded, and you're paying $10+ for a cocktail, but it's so so SO worth it. The bartenders are knowledgeable and crazy talented- they will spend more time on your cocktail than you're used to, but your patience pays off in an expertly crafted, crazy delicious drink. The appetizer meatballs were delicious. For pizzas you can order one of their ideas like the clam and garlic pie or you can create your own. The crust is thin and crisp- soooo yummy. You won't be disappointed. Loved the bartenders. They have great personalities and work very hard. It’s the coolest secret hidden spot in the seaport village...

Excellent pizza, drinks, and service. We arrived around 6:15 on a Saturday and had to wait around 40 min for a table but we could leave a number and wait for a text so we walked around the town for a bit. Our waiter was very friendly and everything came out pretty quick. We had a burrata and roasted broccolini app that was delicious. The drinks menu was clearly meticulously crafted and I can say they were the best cocktails I’ve had on Long Island. They’re true craft cocktails with respect for the spirits and subtle layering of flavors. Recommend the felonious monk and the clarified milk. Clams casino pizza was delicious. Fair pricing especially for the level at which everything...

We tried this restaurant tonight for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised at the coziness of place, the quality of the food, and the friendliness of the staff. Two of us shared Nonna's meatballs, arugula salad, and a margarita pizza along with a couple of cocktails. Everything was top notch. The small basement bar is a little difficult to find if you don't know beforehand what you are looking for. A small candle that was burning on an upstairs table gave away the fact that the restaurant was open....We intend on making this a regular stop on our way...
