As someone who grew up going out east on the North Fork, I've seen many things change. However, one of the best restaurants that has been brought by this change is The Frisky Oyster. This place fulfilled all the top points a fine dining restaurant strives for. The friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, attention to detail, and incredible high quality food really made our entire experience incredible. As the Farm to Table movement has gained speed, this restaurant has created an amazing menu, that has food provided by the local farms in the area. Most of the restaurants seem to be doing this with in the town of Greenport. However, The Frisky Oyster is one that does it fantastically. Lets start with the drinks. The bartender, Bianca, truly knew what she was doing.... and that's coming from someone who is a Bartender by trade. Her cocktails were on point. The Lemon Mojito, Old Fashioned, and Martini's that were enjoyed by our table were spot on, and exactly what you would want as your drink. She personally delivered our drinks to our table and was very warm and made us feel right at home. Our original server, Holly, was friendly and presentable. She was extremely sweet and attentive. She started us off with bread and Hawaiian salted butter, a small, but noticeable detail. We ordered the Grille Caesar salad to share, and chose our entrees as the Short Rib, Soft Shell Crab and a Pasta Dish, with lobster meat. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of all the dishes, but I will say, that everything was incredible, and portioned perfectly. We also decided to get a side order of the Truffle Parmesan fries, which came out smelling incredible. When Holly was leaving for the night, the other server Kyle, was just as amazing. Leaving us happy and equally as satisfied with his service. The French Fries were shoe string, which personally, are my favorite. After we decided to get the desert wine tasting and the vegan Tres Leches Cake. Chef Robby Beaver, brought the cake out to us. Chatting with us about the restaurant. Over all, the experience was amazing and worthy of note. The Ambiance was stunning and definitely made you want to return. I...
Read moreProbably the nicest Restaurant in Greenport. Also, the priciest and hardest to get into. Reservations are a must! Everyone wants to try this place. Everything is done just a little bit different from another restaurant. Check out the picture of the salt and pepper for the table, so cool! The large piece of butter they serve with the rustic Italian table bread has "Hawaiian Salt" flowing over the side, see picture. Now they call this place the Frisky Oyster. However, oysters are not really abundant on the menu. In fact I had to look several times to see if they even had oysters. Of course, they did. I got the only oyster appetizer that was offered, at least on the night I went. Now these little suckers, see picture, were amazing. The best $25 bux for 6 tiny oysters. A little disappointing as I was finished with my appetizer in about 34 secounds. I could have eaten about 100 of these bad boys. Ok that being said, I ordered the Beef filet with lobster risotto. I had ordered it rare, it came to my table charred and more then well done. Our server, Kyle had it replaced for me without hesitation. When I did get my rare filet it was amazing! Back to Kyle, he was very personable and engaging. He invited us to try things we weren't sure if we would like and he said if we didn't like whatever we tried he would take it back and let us try something else. Needless to say we liked everything.
I'm knit picking here, but the tables are very close together and you can easily hear word for word what the people are saying at adjacent tables , which means they can hear you! Be careful what you say. It was a little annoying when the people sitting next to me what ask the waiter what are they having? And a pointing finger would be over my table. Yes, that's how close the tables are.
Overall a very good experience and I will return. Visiting Greenport? Make sure you make your reservation prior to your visit to the town. For a couple, drinks, appetizers, 6 puny oysters, and 2 main courses, be prepared to...
Read moreThis has been on our list to try! We happened to be in Greenport and were looking for a place for dinner! The online reservations said they were booked with only later availability! I decided to call directly and they had openings! Plus when we got there at 6 there was plenty of open tables so don’t rely on the online reservations as they may say booked and they aren’t. This place is super pretty and has a cool bar vibe plus front seating which opens to the outdoors. We sat towards the back and although the tables for 2 were somewhat close I APPRECIATED that because it wasn’t packed they spaced out the parties of 2. I never understand why they seat parties of 2 right next to each other when there are plenty of other party of 2 tables available. I sometimes will not frequent a restaurant with tight quarters because it’s like you are dining with strangers where they hear everything you say and vice versa, which is so not ideal 😝. But anyway, this place was great and did not disappoint!!! It is on the dark side inside so you may have to use your iPhone flashlight like we did! Our server was super great, knowledgeable and offered recommendations when we asked! We ended up going with the salad (I forget the name but it had bacon), def the Oysters topped with some goodness, the pork chop and the scallops!! And of course a kettle one martini! Overall EVERYTHING was DELISH!!! So happpppy we came here! We skipped on dessert as the hubs wanted to get ice cream in town. When we left about 7:15 ish the place was starting to get busy but still a nice cool chill vibe that definitely wasn’t overwhelming! If you are in the area I definitely recommend you check it out!! I rate this a legit 5 star restaurant in Greenport on the North Fork!!...
