My wife and I recently had the pleasure once again to dine at the Olive Branch restaurant and bar in Greenport. We ride out from Oceanside. A 2 hour ride well worth it. I must say, it was as always, a delightful experience. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a great meal. The service is impeccable. We were there on a Thursdays late afternoon with few people out that day. So we were fortunate to have the owner Yusuf take our order and serve us. He made us feel right at home. But what truly stood out was the exceptional Turkish Mediterranean food they serve. From the creamy hummus to the savory spinach Kopita and the delectable stuffed Grape leaves, every dish was a testament to their commitment to homemade goodness. The grill selections were equally impressive, delivering delicious dinners that left us craving for more. And you can't forget the Baklava, which I dare to say is the best I've ever tasted, even as someone of Greek heritage. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a glass of Egeo Cabernet and a traditional Turkish Coffee, which proved to be a fitting end to the dinner. One of the remarkable aspects is the owners personal touch. Yusuf took time to speak with us, making my birthday celebration all the more special. The Olive Branch is without a doubt, the best restaurant in Greenport. Its d dining experience my wife and i will remember always. I highly recommend you stop in and enjoy as we did. You will not be...

We looked for a dog friendly outdoor restaurant, and the Olive Branch was recommended. We were pleased with not only how friendly and accommodating the staff and owner were (we have an elderly dog that we needed to take on our trip to Greenport), but how delicious and well presented our food was. I had the juiciest, most tender, flavorful lamb kabobs I’ve ever had in my life, with tasty rice and savory grilled vegetables. My husband had chicken gyro, with the freshest soft pita, and veggies. I don’t know how the chef makes such flavorful fluffy rice, but wish I could make it this way at home. Each bite of food had it’s own distinct flavor, all of which complimented the other perfectly. The staff was so friendly and even offered our dog his own bowl of water (we had a travel bowl). The owner even came over to say ‘hi’ to our dog (you can tell by the way he spoke to our dog that he’s a real dog-lover himself). The outdoor courtyard was cheerfully decorated with brightly covered shades and umbrellas, with vertical herb gardens adorning the walls (so you know the herbs are freshly picked for each dish). The indoor area was just as cheerfully decorated, with spotlessly clean restrooms. We enjoyed dining here so much, we wished we had returned for dinner. (Because dinner elsewhere wasn’t as good as our lunch was at the Olive Branch). Our only regret is that we don’t live closer, to eat here more often-we will definitely eat here again when we...

We started off with ordering drinks. We selected two beverages off the menu and then the waiter told us he could not make them because he would need to squeeze fresh juice and if other people don’t order those drink the fresh juice will only last one day - so we just ordered wine. Then we wanted to order the Branzino which is the most expensive fish on the menu. We ask if it can be filleted and the waiter says he’s too busy and he’s the only one working (while mind you there were four other people working) and it was not busy at all - I believe there were four other tables being served at the same time. We also ordered the tomato soup which tasted like dish water - very thin and no flavor. We also ordered the tomato Salad (literally the only good thing on the menu). Then we ordered grilled shrimp and after we both tasted it - we realized it was translucent which means not fully cooked. We advised the waiter and he took the dish back - which had other items of food I was eating. Five minutes later brings back the same dish with the fish tails from the shrimp we previously tasted. What an absolute disgusting mess and also super unsanitary. I hesitated to write this because the other staff (not our waiter) was super nice and friendly and we didn’t want to make a scene, but after the shrimp I couldn’t stay silent. Would never go back and would not recommend this...

I am looking at the food photos from this Turkish restaurant in the heart of Greenport. And I realized that I had better Turkish cuisine recently elsewhere and even paid less. But that’s not how my memory works. I had one of the best dining experience. It was during lunch time and it was just my family in their outdoor dining. I usually ordered typical Turkish starters, protein and starch. And I began to engage in a conversation with the owner who was in find of Korean-Turkish relationship. Our discussion lasted another 10+ minutes and I forgot how the food tasted. I am sure it was more than satisfactory. But what I vividly remember was the owner’s hospitality and how that culturally relevant discussion resulted in the best dining experience ever. Since then, Turkey changed the country name to Türkiye. Well, I can’t care less. All I know is I will revisit this restaurant during my next trip to Greenport.

Beautiful ambiance of a nice Turkish restaurant. Ordered the muhammara to start. Great walnut spread infused with red peppers. Wow. Dip pita bread into it. Looks very spicy but has a Slight sweetness to it. Make sure you get the sparkling Turkish water. Big huge blue bottle. Makes the dinner. Ordered the lamb shank paired with jasmine rice, roasted vegetables, and a nice tomato sauce. The lamb shank was super tender and fell apart with a fork. Tremendous amounts of flavor. Yum! Also ordered the salmon entree with the same pairings. Very delicious. Service and the weather was perfect to eat outside at this restaurant. Not a Greek place by any means. So don’t come and ask for a gyro with fries. Great place right in the heart of Greenport.

We ate there with my friend a couple weeks ago, the kebab was so delicious, loved it!! As Europeans, at first we thought that the server didn’t understand we ordered a type of rosé, because the wine we got seemed and tasted like white wine. Was charged for rosé though, we were confused. Although the food and atmosphere was really good, the service not so much. The girl as our server was not smiling, I didn’t think she understood everything correctly what we were saying to her, did not ask us even once how was our food or experience either. As someone who worked in F&B and still working in hospitality, it was just something I didn’t understand. The experience all in all was great though!
