A little while back I put up a post that was complementary but also critical of a couple of things. I wasn't sure of I would return, however, today I did and I am very glad that I did. Today is a stormy day in Buffalo and these folks were one of the few dining establishments open in the area. My hats off to their dedication. I had lunch with my buddy Nabih. We decided to try some of their Lebanese delicacies. OMG!! Great stuff, among the best in the area. I started with a cup of their Beef Barley, it was very good. We shared a dish with a couple of varieties of hummus, babaganoug and labni, these also very good, especially the babaganoug. Nabih also ordered tabouli and grape leaves. The tabouli was really, really good. I am not always a fan of grape leaves but these grape leaves were excellent. I may become a fan now but only if I am at Granny's. As if that wasn't enough I had the Gyro wrap, excellent. I tried a piece of Nabih's kafta, it was the best kafta I have had. I eat a lot of middle eastern food, Granny's really nails it. As I mentioned on my first post, the folks here are very nice, the owner(s), Jacqueline, was very nice and Fadel even came out and chatted with us. I introduced myself and mentioned that I had posted about their restaurant when I was there last. She remembered me and my post. She even remembered where my son and I sat. We talked about the post. Turns out the person who had waited on me was working there on her first day, read my post and was a bit hurt. From what I understand a lesson was learned from it and she has improved tremendously. I feel bad and will apologize here as well as in person when I go back again. Yes, I will go back again and I highly recommend that you check out this nice family owned restaurant as well. The...
Read moreThe food here was skimpy and not authentic tasting. The "Greek Salad" was described as an entree. It came to me like a plate of some romaine lettuce that looked old, a half a plum tomato sliced into four tiny pieces, two pitted black olives and a sprinkling of feta cheese. A Greek salad should be cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, pepperoncini, grape leaves and Feta chunks. Please learn this recipe and then offer it up as a "Greek Salad". I also had an order of lamb souvlaki that was tiny morsels of what could legitimately have been a piece and a half of souvlaki in any other authentic Greek restaurant. The lamb was not seasoned and I was glad to leave. The proprietors took turns asking me how my meal was in front of their regular customers, so I refrained from being honest, as to not embarrass them or their clients. There is much room for improvement and if they were to hees their diners advice, they could turn it around. For me it was a...
Read moreI arrived at the restaurant to collect an order I had placed, having never visited this establishment before. Upon entering, I greeted the owner with a polite "good morning." However, he responded rather abruptly with a simple "what." I clarified that I was there to pick up an order. As I stood beside the tall black stools at the front, the owner insisted that I sit down. I calmly reiterated that I did not wish to take a seat. He then left the kitchen area, approached me, and raised his voice, demanding that I sit down while pointing his finger at me. I respectfully maintained my stance, stating once again that I preferred not to sit. The situation escalated when he shouted for me to leave the premises. I was taken aback by the turn of events. Concerned for my safety as his demeanor became increasingly aggressive, I decided to exit the restaurant without my order.I...
