Home Plate Deli — Restaurant in Town of Ulster

Being fairly new here, my sister and I heard so much about this deli. I don't do deli's. How grateful I am, than I changed my mind!

Home Plate Deli's food, atmosphere, and overall existence is beyond PHENOMENAL. Tucked neatly in Ulster County, NY the food is sooooo good! I was pleasantly surprised and in awe. It's cooked and served well, freshly made, well seasoned, and is a chock full of deliciousness.

The entire staff is so wonderful and friendly; Owners: Shannon & Abe, Cashiers: Jurnee & Tina, Cook: Steve, Line Cooks: John, Martin, & Wilson, Salads: Mary & Elizabeth, Delivery Drivers: Ross, Genern, & Alice, and the Court Jester: Marvin - An AMAZING Team!!! The place is immaculate, and the quality of the customer service here is beautiful. Even my fellow customers were friendly, helpful, and encouraging - one even volunteered to take a picture.

They offer inside dining, coffee, and an array of food, beverages, and snacks. I felt so at home, that I didn't want to leave. Steve the cook, even gave us complimentary cups of soup. We'll surely be returning and advise anyone who hasn't tried this heaven in your mouth, to get over there as quickly as you can. You'll Love It!

Sadly my first review of this place will be my last because I’ll never order from here again. Myself and my co workers have been ordering from this establishment for years. They’ve delivered, we’ve picked up etc. lately people on the phone have been snippy but not compared to someone i spoke with yesterday morning ( Tuesday 27th at 8:50 am ) a man answered rudely to start. I said id be ordering for delivery he asked for the address and I gave it to him. Asked it it was a business I told him a Military Armory. He was continuously rude during these brief interactions but even more so when he asked my name and i told him. Gasping and getting louder he asked for me to spell it so I began spelling it phonetically, which in my mind made things easier. He then yelled at me to just spell it regularly. So i hung up. Not once was this individual even remotely nice. Ive had better service from a tissue box than this phone call. We will no longer be utilizing Home Plate for any...

Order was messed up and pretty bad. I've ordered from here before it was never as bad as today. Meaning, they've messed up my order before and the food was never amazing. But it was decent for the price.

Today, I ordered corn beef hash to be placed within my omelette, so that it wouldn't dry out.

-It was placed underneath and was dryer than a piece of toast left out in the sun.

Ordered "The Rock" hoagie asked for light Italian dressing and to add mayo.

-I got Heavy Italian dressing (so much that you could see through the bag) and NO, not a slither, of Mayo.

I called about the sandwich. Spoke to a seemingly elder fellow who stated, "I'll get you some help, hold please." I heard him talk about the sandwich to another guy who appeared to be a cook possibly. Then I listened to other orders be taken and all kinds of rubbish for about 10 minutes! No one came back to the line. So I hung up. I will not be ordering...
