Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Ulster

The online ordering states this location (Kingston NY) had the fish sandwiches so my husband asked me to pick one up on my way home for him. The employee states no fish sandwiches. I told her online states they have them to which she replied you can order them but we don't have them so it will just cancel the order if you place an online order. Instead I ordered basic chicken sandwiches off the menu without customizations, sides or drinks. My receipt printed at 4:11pm and the employee asked me to pull up to the door for the food instead of waiting at the window (not a large order just 6 chicken sandwiches). In the time I have been waiting, 4 cars have now ordered food and been helped at the window each being handed 2+ bags of food and drinks. While I sit at the door as instructed, I see the employees in the dining area carrying on and laughing for extended periods of time with people who they appear to know as they hug when they left. An employee brought the bag of food out so I put my window down to take the bag which she instead slingshot in my window and states here's your stuff, turned and walked away. My receipt printed at 4:11 and I did not get my bag until 4:38. 27 minutes for 6 of their most popular menu items and most basic sandwiches with cars coming after me getting the same menu item as I ordered when I overheard them ordering while I sat there. This is unacceptable and the worst customer experience I have ever received from a Popeyes. I do not recommend this...

I never give reviews and if zero was an option I'd pick that! I will never patronize at this location or any again. We ordered 2 original chicken sandwiches, 2 large fries (cold), and 12 peice nuggets (had to ask for them after they gave us a bag). The cashier and staff were super rude. We were in the drive thru and waited almost 45 min before we left. We sat at the order speaker for well over 5 mins. When we placed the order I had to repeat it multiple times and she still had a hard time getting it right.... I enunciated well... we get to the window and pay. The cashier and coworkers were so amped up and talking about " she don't care if she owns the place blah blah blah. There was definitely discord among the staff. They had nasty rude attitudes. One girl even stuck her head out the window and asked sarcastically have you been waiting and hour. I said 45 min or so! She rolled her eyes and walked over to get the food ready. The cashier handed out a bag of food and said nothing. Not have a good night or thanks for stopping. We sat there about another 5 min and know one spoke to us. I finally checked our bag and there were no nuggets. Apparently asking if the nuggets were coming annoyed her and she states they are in the bag when they clearly weren't... 🙄 I say avoid at all cost! 9/24 update: This Popeyes has really turned itself around. I stopped going for quite some time, and have been back a few times in the last 6 months and it has been a good experience each time. It seems to me like the whole staff has turned over (can't say for sure, but at least who I have interacted with) which has resulted in always correct orders, fast service, Their prices have also remained slightly more reasonable than other nearby fast food, with better rewards on the app. Whoever was responsible for turning this place around, great job!

Original review: This Popeyes is incompetent. I've never understood why when you go through the drive-thru, they won't pull you up from the machine until the customer ahead of you has their food and is gone. Can they not work on more than 1 order at a time? Why are they so painfully slow? Why do they sometimes fight me that my order is something that it isn't, and insist they're right? I put in my order, I know I said Dr. Pepper and not orange Fanta.

I get it's fast food, which is why I didn't rate atmosphere, but it's weirdly incompetent service. At least the food is okay.

Update: I occasionally have decent service, but my last few times through have still been super slow, and they've gotten my order wrong. I still cannot understand how they remain so...
