Normally, this Taichi is our favorite. They've forgotten cheesy foam here and there but I've never said anything because, as a barista, I know how crazy it gets and I'm not gonna add more to their mayhem.
But today, a very lovely trainee took our order. They were SUPER nice and patient and I had no problem with them. But the (presumably) manager who was training them was genuinely a complete jerk. She was screaming at the trainee the entire time, and treating them like they were stupid for not knowing everything already.
After I ordered and look at my ticket, I noticed that some of the things on it were wrong. I went back up to ask about it, and before I could even point out what was wrong, the manager screamed at me that it just showed up like that and that it would be made right.
So I waited, and when I got the drink, surprise surprise: it was wrong.
I brought it back to the counter and tried to explain to the trainee (who again, was super nice and patient) who called the manager over. When I pointed out that the lemon series drinks came with a lime in them, the manager insisted that they didn't, even though it says on the menu that I was pointing to that it does. I also said I asked for mixed fruit jelly, which didn't get put on the ticket. If she hadn't have screamed at me before I could finish talking before, she would've known that before she finished the drink. She charged me again for the fifty cent upcharge for the jelly. I didn't mind that -- it was an extra addition. What I did mind was when the trainee asked "how do I charge for that?" the manager SCREAMED at them saying "what do you mean 'how!?' You open the drawer and give them fifty cents back for the dollar! It's that easy! See?! It's that easy!"
I get being stressed. And I can handle you screaming at me. But god, seriously. Do not publicly humiliate your trainee in front of customers just because you're stressed and did something wrong yourself.
She shouldn't be allowed to train people, or talk to customers tbh 🤷♂️ at least not like that.
Trainee was so nice but that...
Read moreI prefer the Greece Tachi a lot better than the one at Eastview. First off, the overall atmosphere in this Tachi is MID . Lacking with a mixed of basic standards.
Granted it's very busy and packed a lot of the time, but that's just cause there aren't many options in the mall. Which leads me to believe that it's over-hyped but under delivers.
The service there is unsettling. It's both annoying and standoffish. One lady specifically always seem to have an attitude. The vibe is low.
The food is what really gets me. All the time. It's never prepared correctly and tastes stale. For Instance, the rice bowl I ordered the last time had too much sauce, they didn't even dice the cream cheese and the imitation crab tasted stale.
The drinks are either overly sweet or not sweet enough or sometimes not even mixed properly.
The spicy tonkotsu ramen I got was tasteless, stale and bitter. The noodles were only 2 steps away from being considered $1 package bought ramen. Very weird. There was no spice at all. I honestly wonder if they give me the wrong order. Anyways, for 13 dollars, almost 14, you'd think you're getting good quality fresh tasting ramen but it was lackluster. I had to buy spicy seaweed from another store and put some sesame sauce I had on it to give it flavor. Just so I could stomach it, since I already paid $13. I was disappointed. Also, whoever made the boiled egg that was overcooked with uncooked yolk has a serious skill, cause what was the reason?
The soup broth and the jumbo shrimp were bland. The soup tasted expired and bitter. The shrimp tasted like they just threw it in...
Read moreWanted to try this place because it looked fresh and healthier than what the rest mall has to offer. Waited 15 minutes in line only to find out the advertised chicken bowl was not available and wouldn’t be til next month. Got the special beef Taichi bowl, unagi bowl and dalgona coffee and Strawberry Smoothie . After waiting 28 minutes for what I thought was going to be fresh rice bowls was honestly the worst meals I and my wife have ever eaten. The beef was dry yet somehow slimey, colorless, gelatinous, fatty cobweb mess. The unagi tasted old and smelled particularly fishy and the skin was gelatinous instead of crispy and was drowned in sauce.
The rice and pickled veg within the bowls were decent.
The coffee tasted nothing like I’ve had at other places (not a good thing) and the strawberry smoothie was an instant headache of how disturbingly sugary it was.
Atmosphere is nice and the drinks are fine but absolutely do...
