TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Haven’t sat down and eaten at Eddies in probably 2-3 years. Just went on Monday 4/8/19. The waiter was in training and we have all been at a first job/new job. So I do not blame him. However I absolutely blame the “manager” who said she trained him. I feel bad for him because she must have given him a notepad and said go take orders. For one we had one kid give us the menus and another take the order. My girlfriend ordered a non sweeten ice tea and I ordered a strawberry lemonade. She got a water with lemon and I got her iced tea. That was corrected. And he apologized. I then asked what salads I could choose from, he said only a garden dinner salad was my choice after I asked for a ceaser salad. I asked what dressing and he said it comes with Italian. We both got our salads with no dressing. Not the waiters fault. Guess the chef was in training as well. I then ordered the CHICKEN riggies but instead of sausage I wanted chicken and shrimp. Which is 2$ more. My girlfriend also got riffles but only chicken. Our salads came with no dressing just oil. The bread and butter was 2 dinner rolls that were a day old atleast. Probably more. Also not the waiter-in-training’s fault. When we finally got our riggies I recieved shrimp and sausage. No chicken. My girlfriend recieved riggies with no meat at all. Not to mention the colors of our sauce were night and day. Hers were orange like vodka sauce mine was literally white. Like noodles with 1oz of sauce. This was the end of the road. I politely asked our waiter in training to get the manager. She came over and was completely RUDE from the start. And blamed everything on our waiter being new. So I asked who is training him? She said she was, with her chest puffed out like she is doing a good job. Well hunny sorry but eddies needs a new manager and trainer. I refused my sausage and shrimp riggies and paid for my girlfriends plain riggies and our drinks. The “manager” did not even offer to make things right. She told me sausage and chicken are what their riggies comes with. Did not comprehend what I told her. That I ordered chicken and shrimp riggies and asked to subsititue shrimp with the sausage with my CHICKEN riggies. The waiter showed me his notepad that he gave to the chef that said the exact same. But yes Mrs. Manager blame it on the young man waiter in training. What a shameful “manager” and establishment in general. Will never go there again. And will tell all my friends and relatives, who have camps in the beach or homes, to not go there. I should have asked for the “managers” name. Anyway, I gave our waiter a 5$ tip and told him he was trying and did a swell job. It’s his “trainers” fault not his. We left. The manger made us pay for our food that we left on the table. Never tried to make things right. Just was rude and said we had to pay for our food. What a terrible terrible SAD establishment from what it use to be. Take...
Read moreThere's not a lot of dinner options in Slyvan beach so we headed to Eddie's restaurant for dinner. The place a packed! We did wait for about 10 minutes for a table. While we were waiting, we checked out the menu and the delicious pies they had on display.
We were finally sat. Kristy took care of us tonight. It did take a minute for her to get to us. She was hustling a few tables. Drinks were ordered and we all breezed over the dinner menu. The menu is quite broad. Breakfast, lasagna, seafood, sandwiches... You name it, they got it.
I ordered a bowl of clam chowder and shrimp cocktail for dinner. My daughter got the famous fish plate and my son got the tuna melt. Of course I was going to have a bite of their meals too.
Clam chowder came out first. So did fresh rolls and homemade croutons for the soup. The rolls were good. I appreciate the amount of butter they give you. I love some bread with my butter. The homemade croutons were so good! They were savory and buttery! You added them babies to the clam chowder, delicious! The clam chowder was thick and hearty! Lots of potatoes and corn. It was on the cold side though. It was good but I'm sure it would have been better hot. The portion of the soup was huge! We all ordered cups and they were all bowl sized.
Dinner came out and everyone's plates looked good. My daughter got two chunky pieces of fish on her plate. My son's tuna melt was thick with tuna. My shrimp cocktail looked really fresh. I honestly thought there would be more than just 5 pieces of shrimp. The shrimp wasn't the biggest. The cocktail sauce was heavy with horseradish and it was so good! The tuna melt was ok. My daughter's fish fry was tasty! It was fried perfectly and not too oily. The fresh haddock they use is so good. The fries were fried soft, my favorite.
We were too full for dessert but thier huge dessert menu sounded so good. Maybe next time! Food was decent at Eddie's. The price point is pretty high but you do get decent portions, especially if you order fish. You can tell this joint has been a long time staple for Slyvan beach. I'm happy I got to try this local joint out. Kristy did a great job and it was fun to be with my family at this...
Read moreThis was a nice place to end our beach day! When we got there it was a little bit of a wait but completely understandable as it was Labor Day and they we're only one of a couple places still open for the season. Put while waiting you get to stand next to the dessert case full of delicious looking pies that we now couldn't wait to try. This was our first time here and loved the family friendly dinner feel it had to it, plus the little pigs and family portraits made for many interesting things to look at. The staff was sure moving fast but even in their busy haist everyone was very friendly. There is a lot on the menu! You can get breakfast all day, plus lots of sandwiches, salads, starters, and a few pages of dinner items, then of course a huge list of pies, ice cream sundaes, and other items. It was definitely hard making a decision. For starters we got mozzarella sticks, zip zap shrimp, pickle fries, and meatballs with ricotta. They all taste good like your average restaurant starters, the zip zap shrimp was more like a buffalo shrimp, and the ricotta cheese that came in the meatballs was cold, I do wish they baked the cheese with the meatballs to warm everything but again everything was tasty. For dinner we got a cup of chicken pastina soup, the Ruben, fried clam strips, kids Mac and cheese, lemon dill salmon, and stuffed French toast with Nutella and strawberries (not pictured). Everything was delicious I wish my salmon had more lemon but still tasty, but I did not like the rice pilaf so I would recommend a different side. Everyone was sufficiently full. We couldn't forget dessert and took several slices of pie home that we enjoyed the next day. They were so yummy I forgot to take pictures. In all it was a good dinner at a nice local family establishment, after a day on the beach for a family this would be a great place to dine. I will be back one day just to eat a...
