Ordered from Giacomos on a whim many years ago, and have been ordering here ever since, so felt I was overdue for a review! Out of the 5 or so Giacomos locations, this one is my favorite (though all are very good). The counter staff and delivery guys are always cordial, diligent and prompt with our orders, and food always arrives hot to our door when we get it delivered. Expect busy Friday nights though, so order ahead!
Dine-in atmosphere is upscale & spacious, great variety of tasty (and oversized) dinners & subs, and there’s tons of different pizza options—the thin crust gourmet topping pizzas are our personal favorites (spicy chicken ranch is best!)
Over the years it seems like Giacomos has become a household name in the Wappingers Falls/Poughkeepsie area, and they’ve definitely become a stand-out place amongst the otherwise bland ‘typical small town’ pizzerias & Italian restaurants in the area. They deserve their 2 ‘Best in the Hudson Valley’ titles for sure!
A final thing to note: the ability for me as a customer to see the pizzas being made in plain view by the pizza chefs (including the owner himself many times!) lends a great deal of confidence in the quality of the food, and truly reflects the noble & honest nature that so many other restaurants lack!

Read moreOrdered two grandmas slices and a tuna sandwich over the phone. Got there about 20 minutes later after they told be it’d be 15 and was there for another 15-20 minutes. Staff didn’t pay attention and one staff member put the phone on hold because a friend walked in. At least that’s what I saw. The slices were ready. They were waiting on the sandwich. It was a Tuesday night, they weren’t super busy. There was no reason it should take almost 40 minutes to make a sandwich. The manager was just talking to the staff and joking around. Not paying any attention to the customers around or that the phones were ringing. One delivery boy had to take the phone because the girl was too busy laughing with another coworker. This is all what I saw. Not sure what was actually happening behind the counter. But they did not seem to care that I waited so long for a sandwich or that i was clearly upset with the wait time. Read moreCalled today to place an order and was met with the rudest person, I asked for a Philly cheesesteak with everything on it, and extra cheese, the girl on the end said so you want the steak hogie? I said no I want the cheesesteak that doesn’t have mayo and lettuce, she said “ do the hogie has tomato lettuce and mayo,” I said no I want the cheesesteak and she replied “ well OBVIOUSLY you don’t want EVERYTHING on it” umm excuse me?!? She told me the total and then hung up on me, never asking for a name. I called to tell the manager that this person is really rude to customers and was told their was no manager on. Right.
It’s service like this that costs businesses revenue, there’s no reason to be nasty or rude to anyone calling in, especially when you’re wrong. My family uses this location a lot but seeing that this it how they let regulars be treated, I guess we’ll start...
