Excellent food and great service Been coming to the Odyssey for several years now. The Odyssey is a true old fashioned Greek style diner. Great food, great service, clean, bright and airy. The menu is quite extensive from simple breakfasts to elaborate and quite filling dinners. I go there only for dinner, the selection from pasta to chicken to steaks to seafood is great. Something for everyone. The portions are ginormous but the prices are quite reasonable. No need to take out a loan and it will not break the bank. All dinners include soup or salad, bread basket (fresh hallah bread), chopped vegetable platter, the entree (of course), fresh vegetable and starch. In addition, everyday there is a “Daily Tending Menu” that features some selections off the regular menu plus some daily specials not found on the regular menu. If its not on the menu, Jack will do his best to accommodate your request. Wait - added special. ONLY on Wednesdays- the Odyssey features roasted lamb shanks. 2 humongous portions of lamb on the bone in a brown sauce, orzo, and vegetable. Jack the owner knows me and makes them a little different for me - lots of garlic and rosemary. Service is outstanding. The Odyssey is family owned and operated. Jack personally instructs the wait staff to always be warm, friendly and courteous. Lately we’ve had Doreen or Jack Jr. to wait on us. Great service from both. Make sure you leave room for dessert. Jack and the Odyssey make their own cheesecakes. My favorite is the Bavarian or raspberry cheesecake. They also have an outstanding to die for chocolate cake. If you want “chain style” restaurants - there are plenty up and down Rt. 9. If you want good old fashioned home style meals, this is the place to come. Jack is a true restauranteur who knows the business, and knows his customers. He comes around and makes sure everything is to your liking.

This diner is an authentic family owned Greek diner. I been to many diners in this area and this has to be the best one by far. Took me twenty minutes to decide what to eat because there is just so many pages with different things to choose from. The prices were on point and their portions of food is insane. I had amazing service while here and the staff is so friendly. It was a clean and welcoming environment. When I walked in I noticed they had a tower of desserts that spin around. So I asked about them and was told that they make them all themselves. Again all different things you can choose from, from cheesecakes to pies. I asked my server about their background and they told me so much. They been in the business for a long time and their sauces, dressings, soups, and desserts are home made. I had the sunny side burger and it was an amazing burger and a very good price. I didn't have to wait long for my food to come out which was amazing. I had vanilla ice cream for dessert and yes it was basic but they have the best flavored ice cream. I even saw that they have a day during the week that kids eat free. I will be coming here more often, it is so worth it.

Stopped on my way back home to NYC and what a little gem of a diner. It was empty at 8pm which was good for me. We were greeted right away and very pleasantly unlike some places you go and the person seems like they dont even want to escort you to your seats. Server said sit anywhere you’d like. Gave us water right away and he was very attentive to any of our needs. Ordered a sunnyside burger with bacon and it was delicious along with waffle fries, if any complaint I can make but its more of a suggestion, cut the tomato slice way way thinner, this way the tomato doesnt overwhelm the burger. I found my tomato slice to be super thick and didnt eat it. Again, just a suggestion. Very happy with my burger. Wife ordered steak quesadillas and what we liked is that he gave her the option of placing the veggies inside the quesadilla or just outside with the salad. She loved her quesadilla. Overall impressed with everything, server was great, i am guessing the older man is the boss and he was great as well. Recommended.

We came in at 8:20 on a Tuesday night. Our waitress is called Carly. She was very attentive without being even a little pushy. Our service was truly excellent.

We have an autistic son, who is a very picky eater, and we usually order his meal before our own. We ordered pancakes with home fries for him. We are always apprehensive because we are never sure if he will eat. My wife began feeding him his pancake, and to our surprise, he started eating the home fries all by himself. He was obviously enjoying them very much, so I tried it myself. It was the best I've ever tasted. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My complements to the chef, Tomas.

I ordered a Greek salad, and my wife ordered a vegetarian pita wrap, which came with a side Greek salad also. While we were waiting for my food, I had a Long Island ice tea, which was delicious and refreshing. I had another with dinner.

Every ingredient in my Greek salad was fresh, from the feta to the kalamata olives to the stuffed grape leaves. It couldn't be guaranteed that the dressing is vegetarian, so we had our salads dressed with tzatziki, which was excellent.

To top it off, I ordered the Black Forest cake, my wife's favorite, which was the perfect end to the meal. The frosting had little candy pieces in it, which was a nice little plus.

I cannot recommend the Odyssey Dinner highly enough. My entire experience was impressive, the prices were eminently reasonable, and I encourage everybody to give them a try! Thanks...

Being in the restaurant business sometimes feels like a curse. With that being said, I got take out for the first time here about 30 minutes ago. My family LOVES this place! I ordered food and when I went in to get it, I was greeted right away. Staff was very friendly. Two waitresses asked if I was being helped (at separate times). Place was very clean and again, staff was very welcoming!! Food was ready on time. Came home, the Togo was packed with care (napkins, ketchup, pickle and coke slaw). As soon as I opened my cheesecake and felt the bread I knew it wasn’t fresh. Ohhh, at 7pm a restaurant is usually packed. Especially one that is in a location like this one. Maybe 4 tables were eating. Back to the bread. Definitely frozen and taken out to be used today. Really??? What are you saving, 35 cents. I took a bite, no flavor at all. The peppers and onions were bland. You can tell they were cooked days before. Restaurants will do this and it’s understandable buttttt flavor leaves vegetables after 24 hours. Steak was halfway cooked a day or two ago. They only fresh thing about my sandwich was the cheese. My family loved the sandwiches they got. I’ll personally never eat anything there again. I’m sure my family will order two more times this week. Only reason for the 3 stars, was staff. Hard to find attentive, personable and friendly staff these days. After 30 mins, I still can’t get this bitter taste out...
