Any good stars given is to those poor employees who are belittled by a horrible general manager.
McDonald's (Wautoma, WI)
We recently witnessed a disheartening incident at the wautoma mcdonalds, where the general manager (Junior) displayed highly unprofessional behavior towards a teenage employee. The young staff member had made a mistake, which, while inconvenient, was certainly not beyond resolution. However, instead of addressing the issue calmly and constructively, the general manager chose to berate the employee publicly in front of us.
This reprehensible behavior not only created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both employee and us but also showcased a lack of managerial skills. It is essential for leaders to foster a positive work environment, especially when dealing with mistakes, as they are inevitable in any workplace. Publicly humiliating an employee, especially a teenager, is not only detrimental to their morale but reflects poorly on the overall culture of the establishment.
Effective leaders understand that mistakes are opportunities for growth and improvement. A supportive approach in handling such situations encourages a healthy work environment where employees feel comfortable admitting errors and learning from them. Unfortunately, Junior the general manager at Wautoma McDonalds failed to demonstrate these fundamental leadership qualities.
In the future, it is my hope that Watouma Mcdonalds addresses such incidents promptly and implements training programs to ensure a respectful and positive workplace. A respectful and understanding approach to management not only benefits the employees but also contributes to the overall success and reputation of the business.
If anyone was wondering what the incident was. We went through the drive through and were charged for the car behind us instead of our order. It was a bit more and our card was charged. The manager should have just refunded, charged us for the correct meal, and then went on with his night. Instead started freaking out on the young female employee, and when we said that the overcharge wasn't a big deal, but the way he speaks to his employee is. He went on to ask if we have ever been a manager somewhere and this is our response to that. He said it was a big deal because now he has to give us free food, in which he truly did not have to do so had he known how to do his job properly, he would of fixed it instead of just trying to hand free food out. We did not mind waiting. We did not mind paying for the food we ordered. He then went on to yell at us, and kick us out of the drive through. We did not yell at him, use cuss words, just simply said that the incident was not worse than how he was speaking to this young employee. I hope that other people out there stick up for improperly treated employees. I very much hope that young girl can get a better manager who will not speak to her that way and realize people make mistakes. We were very worried that she will probably be fired, and he will keep his job and speak to other employees and customers that way. We aren't trying to take his job either, just maybe this is an opportunity for him to learn as well.
The food is usually always fresh here and best prices around. But this general manager needs...
Read moreIf there was less than 1 star this store earned it! Had 3 beyond terrible experiences with this "local" chain. It started about 4 months ago when they had a makeshift sign up stating only cash, no credit or debit. I am sorry but in a digital world today everyone is closed to being forced to digital currency. They had no carbon copy or the ability to write down the card information. After a nice letter to McD's they decided to send a family of 4 just 2 coupons that were sorry about that. A month or so go by, it was a Saturday morning and decided to let them redeem themselves. We wanted to dine in this time, so we walked in not busy mind you only 3 customers in the store. Waited to be greeted and have our order taken. 15 minutes of waiting with no acknowledgement that we would like to purchase food, more concerned about drive through. So we drove to Waupaca and went to the Burger King instead. Didn't get a chance yet to use our 2 were sorry coupons again. Now today on 2/21/2016 ONE MORE TIME the kids wanted those shamrock shakes so I caved and tried to let them have ANOTHER chance, boy was I wrong to let that happen. We all ordered our food, a number 2 with a shake, a number 3 with a shake, and two number 4's with shakes. I wanted to use my I'm sorry cards on the number 4's because that is what me and my wife normal ate in the past. After being yelled at by some dumb girl manager, telling me the customer is not right, and getting my refund after telling them how I wanted to use the coupons Which DID NOT INDICATE IN THE FINE PRINT LESSER VALUE!!!! They wanted to give me the 2 lesser meals for free which I did not agree with. I asked them to split my order into 2 parts then, so it would be easier on them. After this peon manager is yelling at me and telling me how a customer isn't right. I somehow got a refund but they company decided not to refund my property of two sorry coupons. Now in the laws eyes that is THEFT! I did not get everything back as originated. McDonald's bad taste forever!!!!! May just be this piss ant managers but they sure did a great job in ruining the Franchise forever for our family. May it not be soon enough that this one closes! By the way we enjoyed our $5 pizza pizza and it was no headaches for getting that food, HOT,Ready, and Good to Go as promised. And a Hell of alot cheaper for 2 pizzas, 2...
Read moreUnpleasant, worst quality McDonald's food I've ever had - should have thought to check the reviews first. Drove up about 915pm on Friday night. No line. No one ahead of us. Not greeted at the drive up, instead we were just asked what we wanted, whatever. Cashier was friendlier in person though - wished us a nice holiday weekend. The gal that was handing out food didnt open the window for a few minutes. Opened the window and handed us 2 sodas and straws without a word. Several, several minutes later we got a bag of food and an apology. I thought it probably took a while because they were making fresh food and it was all going to be piping hot. We ordered a 6 pc chicken tender meal (to share between 2 small kids and myself) and a dbl quarter pounder meal totalling $17 and some change. Luckily, we then parked in the lot to tend to the toddler and I checked on the 6 pc. I GOT 5 PIECES NOT.EVEN.HOT. Not even all of the same proportions. 1 piece honestly, barely had any breading left on it - it was the runt of the batch. 1 piece was dry, old, crusty dry. I sent the husband in to fix the order. They fried up 1 new piece and he brought it back with the old 5 pieces - simply miscounted they said. I guess the inside was a disaster. Ice cream drippings all over the machine, M&Ms all over the floor, they were using cups straight out of the box. So, basically I ended up w/a 4 pc because 2 were unedible and questionable.
This is the exact fear I have of stopping to eat somewhere. You end up with super subpar food.
DO NOT EAT HERE. Yuck! Makes me sad we decided to pass up 2 other McD's.
Go kitty corner to the Kwik Trip where the service is great and the...
