First, let me start by saying that the food was delicious. Everyone in our party absolutely loved it.
The service, however, was abhorrent. It was, I believe, partially my fault. I have a child who has sensory issues, and the volume of the music was really difficult for her. In truth, it was so loud you had to shout to be heard. I asked our initial server if there was any way whatsoever they could turn the music down, just a little, because my kid was twitching from the volume. He responded that most people ask them to turn the music up and stomped away. We never saw him again - he literally never came back to our table. To be honest, I believe he assumed I was a "Karen" or something, even though I asked very politely and provided a valid reason for my request. However, after we asked the young man to turn the music down, no one returned to our table for at least 20 minutes. And... the restaurant was not busy. I wanted to leave, but it was my daughter's birthday and she wanted to have a crab boil. There were more empty tables than not - so no excuse for such horrible service. I finally asked the hostess if we were going to be served, and she said she would look into it. She then started taking our drink orders and brought our drinks. About ten minutes later a young lady came to our table and stated she would be taking over our service from there. She took our orders, and we were served our food about 15 minutes later. Except, they forgot to prepare my husband's food. So, he had to wait another 10 minutes for his food. Then, the waitress never once returned to our table. Some of us got our food pretty spicy, so our drinks ran out. I tried to get someone to wait on us, but no one would. I had to go out to my car to get water bottles for everyone.
I finally went back to the hostess stand and asked if someone could bring us something so we could package up our leftovers and bring us our check. Which happened maybe five minutes later.
I genuinely believe the waiter who first approached our table refused to serve us because I had the audacity to ask them to lower the volume of the music. We just were not welcome there - it was obvious. I will never go back - ever. Good food notwithstanding, the service we received at this place was abominable. The more I think about how they destroyed my daughter's birthday with the horrible service, the more angry I get.
Now, never let it be said that I am not generous. We still tipped $55 on a $200 check - because I know the servers don't make much money - and the food was good. But, it was really disheartening and disappointing, and again, they ruined my...

But I rated it a 1 star because they almost killed me. I have a high food allergy to pork and the waitress said the sausage is made with chicken and pork. I stressed to her that I didn’t want the sausage at all in my bag. I believe that she put the order in right but when I got my food, it looked like my order. I started eating and after 3 shrimp I picked up a potato which had a sausage stuck to it. I immediately jumped up and went to my car to get some Benadryl. After chewing 4 Benadryls, I came back in the restaurant with my epi-pen just in case I should need it. Shortly the manager came over to the table and said, “I heard you had some trouble over here so I took 10% off your bill for your trouble cause pork also makes me feel sick. She never asked me anything like if I was alright but feeling sick and my throat closing is two totally different situations if you ask me. I can deal with feeling sick but my life was put at risk. Read moreI absolutely love Crafty Crab. This is more of my favorite spots when I visit Baltimore! I visit here once again last night and placed an order I usually get, which is a pound of lobster tail and black mussels, however the waiter wrote exactly what I asked for but my order was wrong. That was no problem mistake happens, however I asked Mark to not pick through my bag and added the mussels but make my order fresh because I have a huge allergic reaction to specifically shrimp and fish. Anyways, my request was totally disregarded and they pick the shrimp out my bag to added the uncooked mussels, totally disgusting! I was told they will not make my order again I had to settle for what I had. They told me they cook all the seafood together, however that is so unsanitary because you should only make the food freshly prepared for what is requested per customer. The next day I a huge allergic reaction caused from the shrimp shells left in my bag. I own 3 companies of my own and I would never treat my customers as such!
