TL;DR at the bottom
The food is pretty tasty as long as you don't have a nut allergy. My boyfriend and I ordered their Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer through UberEats. We made sure to include in the notes that he has a nut allergy and to please be careful. Neither item lists nuts as an ingredient but its always better to be safe than sorry.
After taking a couple of bites of the Butter Chicken, my boyfriend started going into anaphylactic shock. His throat started to close up and he started breaking out in hives. Thankfully, he's okay now but, can you imagine our surprise?
I called the restaurant to inform them of what happened. Food allergies shouldn't be taken lightly and I wanted to make sure this doesn't happen to someone with a more severe reaction. I was brushed off, told "I made the food myself, there's no nuts!" and then hung up on. Not only did we not receive an apology for what could've been a life-threatening situation, but to be so dismissive of an obvious food safety violation doesn't sit well with me.
Our roommate and his girlfriend also had a similar situation happen months prior. When I told them what happened to my boyfriend today, they asked if we ordered from Butter Chicken Restaurant, by name. They then told me how they ordered food from them previously, items that don't list nuts as an ingredient, and ended up getting sick (roommate's girlfriend also has a nut allergy).
TL;DR - food is yummy but don't order if you have a nut allergy. Things are obviously being cross-contaminated but no one seems to...
Read moreWe were a frequent carry out customers about 2 years ago and never had a complaint. The food was delicious, the portions were good, and the quality was great. We decided to try again today and that may be the last time. I noticed when I picked up the order the bag seemed oddly light. We ordered 4 items that we have tried before (samosas, pakoras, kebab sampler, garlic naan) and a new entree (chicken sukuti). The portions of everything were smaller, the samosas were about 1/3 smaller than previous orders. The pakoras were tiny, about 1/2 size, and fried solid. The kebab sampler was about half the size of previous orders, smaller shrimp, smaller pieces of chicken and the sheek kabob is about 1/2 of portion it used to be. The tamarind chutney was watered down to the point it was nearly tasteless and in the smallest possible condiment container. The chicken sukuti tastes good but the portion was smaller than their entrees were. Overall just disappointing since I’ve been looking forward to Indian/ Nepali...
Read moreEditing to add Sept 2025: While this has been our go to Indian restaurant the last 3+ years, our last few experiences have led us to try other places to find a new go-to. The food is just not as flavorful and def has a sweet taste which we don’t prefer, we preferred the previous taste— so flavorful and savory. The sugary taste is just overwhelming and really takes away. We tried the lamb saag for the first time and it barely had flavor. Disappointed because we really liked this place and loved supporting a local spot.
This is our favorite place for Samosas and chicken/lamb korma in the area. Naan is great too! I’m sure their other food is good too, we just love the korma so much we haven’t tried much of anything else. We’ve always done carry out, can’t speak for their...
