PEOPLE OF COLOR BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! I usually do not leave reviews, however, my experience at Banditos in Towson was extremely horrible! My friends and I visited this establishment on Friday, July 15th around 7pm. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks (Mezcal Mule and a lime margarita) arrived before our food and lets just say they were not the best. They were so sweet it tasted like we were consuming syrup. We asked our waiter if we could swap them out for another drink. Our waiter responded that we would need to speak to the manager for the request. The manager (Josh or Jospeh) came to our table and we explained our issue in regards to our drinks. Once hearing our complaint he says "let me a grab a straw and taste your drinks to see what you're talking about". Like excuse me? That was strike number one. He grabs two straws and taste our drinks. Then tells us that there is a policy where they cannot swap out drinks and that their agave is normally that sweet. I have been to several restaurants and have NEVER in my life experienced nothing like this. So we said since we do not like our drinks we do not want them and to please take them off the bill. Mind you we only took a sip and Josh or Joseph (Manager) used a straw to taste our drinks. Why would I want to drink after a complete stranger?! As we try to leave the restaurant, the manager states we still have a bill to pay. We never received our food and were not satisfied with our drinks so what are we paying for exactly? He actually tried to block us in from leaving which was insane. This encounter was extremely racist and unsatisfying. I will NEVER visit this place again and I will be...
Read moreI will never eat at this location again. I've been to the one in White Marsh and the experience was great! The Towson location clearly caters to the college crowd. To start, we (party of 3) came here to celebrate my birthday, and were seated by the door. We were told no other seats were available, yet we saw another party of 3 get a booth. When our server showed up, she told us there was a party of 30 downstairs so food would take longer to come from the kitchen. Why? Next, we ordered drinks, 1 appetizer, and dinner. The appetizer and drinks came with no plates/napkins/utensils, which we asked for. After that, dinner took FOREVER to come and we didn't see the server again until she brought our meals. The food was luke warm and portion size was off. I asked the server about both issues and she offered to bring me extra lettuce and rice. 😑 She also offered to send the manager over, and I said yes. When the manager came over, I expressed our disappointment over the entire experience and he offered to take a percentage off of the bill. To be clear, I told him my point for sharing my experience was not to get a discount- it's so that things get better. My dining experience at one location shouldn't be so drastically different at the other. The manager was very understanding and polite. We left after paying $93, and that was after a discount. Here's what we had: 3 bowl's, one soda, one Shirley Temple, 1 tequila flight, 1 chips w/salsa, queso, guac, 1 side of shrimp for the bowl with no meat. Our party of 3 was considered a "large party" and we were automatically charged 18% on the bill. I will...
Read moreRight in the heart of the towson food scene, banditos gives the college/ sports bar vibe with colorful decor, hip music and laid back atmosphere. They not only offer the famous Taco Tuesday night but several other happy hour deals and specials, which sets them apart from many other local taco spots. I opted to sit at the bar but there are several options and a great open space. The crowd was decent and not too busy for a Tuesday evening , so I was a bit taking back by the sort of slow service I received once I sat down. The server passed by me twice without asking if I needed anything but once I caught her eye she sensed I was ready.
Food: Happy hour runs from 3:30 to 6:30, I think. They offer several different $3 taco options and a variety of discounted cocktails. I ordered the mushroom, chorizo and hot Nashville tacos. Every single taco was full of flavor and just the right amount of heat. I am far from a vegan but literally could eat the mushrooms taco again and again!. The Nashville taco was seasoned perfectly and the chicken had a great crunch without being to soggy. The chorizo was smoky and had a great southwest flavor. Needless to say, I enjoyed them so much, I ordered two more.
Banditos is a great spot for a different take on the basic ground beef or chicken tacos. I definitely will put them in my rotation for my Taco...
