If you can you must stop into Archie's for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The breakfast here is beyond expectation. The dishes are curated to sate your hunger.
My recommendation is the florintine omelet, the delicately prepared eggs, and fresh fillings are elevated when you bite into the cheese at the center. Also, the French toast here, which can come with a variety of in-house decadent toppings, is the best tasting in town. For lunch, both burgers present a cascade of taste for the diner and present a solid amount of food for the price. I'll withhold comment on dinner for now, besides saying the cornbread is amazing, it's a newer addition to the establishment, and I haven't tried many of the offered dishes.
I've been to Archie's a fair bit recently, my office is close by, and watching the thoughtfully presented orders for others pass by keeps me coming back to try new items.
Beyond the food. The location is on the smaller side and can get a bit loud when busy for those with auditory dining needs. The seating is a mix of high tops and standard tables, both are appropriate for the dining experience though the high-top chairs are a bit stern and narrow if this is something you consider when choosing a place to eat.
Archies's is a fine place to take younger diners. Though may be difficult with a stroller.
Just as information for prospective diners, parking is a bit wonky around Archie's. There are a decent number of metered parking spaces though they are mostly back-in spots and if your car is longer it's not feasible to use them since the road is pretty narrow. Depending on the time of year, or your walking abilities, there is ample access to walk from nearby streets to Archies.
TLDR: Archie's has some of the best food in town, if you can stop in while visiting TC it's worth your time. If you are a local go as soon as you can and support...
Read moreI had a terrible time at Archie’s. I went late in the morning on a week day, they were about half full at the time, both inside and outside. My wife and I asked if we could sit outside, and even though there were plenty of tables available the host said he had to seat us inside because he just seated a table outside and had to alternate. I found this to be weird since they weren’t that busy and were equally full inside and out, but he then sat us at the worst table in the restaurant, the two top right by one of the doors to the kitchen so we had to listen to the door open and close as people brought dishes back. There were plenty of seats open by the windows, but that’s where he insisted we sat. We ordered and my wife’s cappuccino took so long to come out I’d finished my coffee before she got hers. Our food took close to half an hour to come out as well, which actually wouldn’t bother me in the slightest since we weren’t in a rush, but when it arrived it was completely cold. I thought it was weird it took half an hour to cook eggs when most places do it in 5-10 minutes, but then it made perfect sense - it clearly DID take the kitchen 5-10 minutes to cook, and then our food sat for 15-20 minutes getting cold before it was brought out to us. I could tell the food actually would have been really good had it been hot, but unfortunately enough of our experience was off that I’m not going to be giving Archie’s a...
Read moreTheir brick and mortar opened just a week ago...I've been twice. It's one of the few restaurants open at 7am for breakfast (thank you) and the menu is outstanding. Something for everyone, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers. The service is very kind (Staci was really lovely and the man who served us the second time was genuinely kind, too). The food is excellent - I highly recommend the protein (gluten free) pancakes (there are a choice of 5 interesting toppings). I am not gluten free but yum, I'll order these again. Had the mushroom (local and wild) benedict and the original benedict the second time, excellent. The "home fries" are fingerling potatoes halved and lightly (nicely) seasoned. Side of fruit was fresh and ripe. Homemade sausage was a little heavy on the garlic. Delicious oak milk latte as well as chai latte (regular coffee was a little strong). Service is a bit slow but not bad, it was also the first week so they are finding their way. Staff seem to enjoy working there - they all greet diners as they come and go. Reasonably priced for the excellent food (portions are generous). I am a BIG fan of S2S though this highly ranks among the very best in TC at the moment. I will definitely return for the excellent cuisine...
