Sami's Family Restaurant and Banquet Center — Restaurant in Troy

On Monday evening 8/26 I placed a to go order of 2 tenderloins and ff, asked for onion, pickles and tomato for one sandwich and pickle and onion for the other, requested no lettuce, however, lettuce was all we got which was brown!! Might I add the girl that answered the phone when I placed my order had absolutely no personality and was rude when I called back to complain about my order. Finally somebody answered after about calling 20x, it would ring and ring before finally disconnecting. I guess they were afraid to answer the phone since it was 7:30pm and they close at 8. Her reasoning for us not receiving what we asked for was because the people in the kitchen don't speak English, so how did they know what to cook? She said they have help with orders, I told her what she said did not make sense, she proceeded to say it didn't need to make sense to me. That's fine we won't be back!! I asked for the manager to call me, she supposedly took my name and number, here it is Friday 8/30 and I haven't heard from the manager. I can honestly say when we have dined in the service has...

Breakfast food here is great - when you can get it.

I can count on one hand the number of times I walked out of a restaurant (2 of them having been Sami’s) The 1st time we were seated but after 20 minutes nobody came to take a drink or food order - so we left. Months later we thought we should give them another chance. The restaurant was not busy, had plenty of open tables, 3 waitresses (I could see) and 2 people behind the counter. As we stood next to the “Please wait to be seated” sign - waitresses walked past us 4 times w/o any acknowledgment. The 4th time the waitress actually bumped into my wife, as she stood still, chasing down a customer who left their “To-Go box” on the table. This wasn’t a light brushing that she did realize happed - yet still no apology or comment like “I’ll be right with you”. Unbeknownst to the staff my father had a dinner booked (for 25 people)in the back room for later that month that month. We used to love this restaurant. It was actually my husband's favorite place to eat. That has changed. My husband and I went in there a short time ago for brunch. When my husband unwrapped his silverware there was food crud all over his knife. We were trying to get waitress attention for new silverware, then I opened mine. My fork had dried food all over it. DISGUSTING!! We tried to stop them before they delivered our food, but we could not get their attention. We showed them BOTH of our silverware and told them we lost our appetite when the food was delivered a just got up and left. I later called, asked to speak to a manager, but recognized her voice as the person serving our food. No attemp made to try to regain our business. We can no longer recommend them. Makes me wonder what might get stuck on the plates that...
