When we went in, there was a sign to seat yourself so we did. We quickly got our drinks, and then we were told our waitress would be with us shortly. 15 minutes went by and we hadn’t even received a hello from our waitress. We started noticing tables that had arrived after us were having their orders taken as well as receiving their food. When one of the waitresses passed by I politely said “Excuse me, miss?” to get her attention. She did not pay me any attention until one of the customers at a table she was waitressing pointed to me and told her I was trying to talk to her. She turned to me, didn’t even let me speak, and then rudely said “Give me a minute. The other waitress will help you but there’s only two of us.” I completely understand that it can get busy, and it’s especially difficult when you’re short handed. I work in customer service myself, but I do not take out my frustrations on my customers or just blatantly ignore them. I show my customers kindness and they’re generally very understanding. When she came back by, my grandma got her attention and asked how much the coffee was so we could just pay since no one had come after 30 mins of being there. She wouldn’t tell her and instead said, AGAIN, that our waitress would be with us. My grandma reiterated that everyone is being helped but us. This woman literally bent down, got IN MY GRANDMA’S FACE, and told her that we weren’t one of her tables and they each have their own section (speaking to her like she’s stupid). My grandma kept telling her that she understands that but all of these people are being helped expect for us. Every time my grandma tried to advocate for herself this lady would get into her face!! And then she said the other lady was new and she was basically running it by herself, assuming she was talking about the other waitress. We later found out that the new person was the sweet girl who was taking our drinks - obviously not waitressing. Very misleading and manipulative in my opinion. The other waitress had only been working on the tables in the front of the restaurant and we were in the back where the first lady was working so i don’t understand how we weren’t one of her tables. Even when the other lady finally came, she said “Oh, she hasn’t taken your order yet?” NO! BECAUSE SHE WAS MAKING US WAIT FOR YOU! Actually infuriating. We gave her our order but the food was taking a long time, longer than anyone else’s, and we had been there for SO LONG. We just paid for the coffee and left. She didn’t even ask why we were leaving. I told her how the first lady literally got in my grandma’s face over it and she said nothing. Not even an apology. This was hands down the worst restaurant experience we...
Read moreWell, this was a bit of a disappointment after reading Google reviews and seeing the average rating. We arrived at Wagon Train Coffee Shop at 12:40pm on Monday, June 20, 2022 and were almost immediately seated by a hostess. We ordered two large orange juices and started looking over the menu. After a bit, the server, who was working the front part of the restaurant at that time, asked us what we wanted. When we asked if they had omelettes, she said they were on the front of the menu. And as we were figuring out how the menu worked (it’s a busy menu) and we asked if we could build an omelette, she she said, “Yes, you just need to decide what you want,” in an impatient manner. I found this odd since we were just starting to study the omelettes. It was then that I realized that I think she resented that the hostess had seated us because the restaurant closes at 1:00pm, and I got the feeling that our server just wanted out of there. We ordered. When this server was bringing us our order, she dropped the butter on the floor, and then never came back to replace it. She, instead, started working the cashier (I suppose the hostess was being relieved). So after about five customers paying, I was finally able to get her attention and ask her to replace the butter that she had dropped bringing over our items. She did. As my wife and I were eating our meals, another customer told the server, “We never got our milk we ordered,” to which the server said, “Well, I’ll just take it off of the ticket.” Wow! My wife got up to go to the bathroom, passing through the rear of the dining area, where there was water on the floor. As she passed through this area, my wife heard one worker tell another who was about to walk through that area, “Hey, be careful, there’s water on the floor.” Mind you, she didn’t tell my wife, a customer, to be careful. She told another employee to be careful. After a few minutes in the bathroom, my wife came out to find the water still there on the floor. We found the food to be okay, not great. The bacon was good, the scrambled eggs a bit mushy, the hashed browns were not well cooked inside. For all of the reviews on Google, I would not re-visit this restaurant. It wasn’t that great, and the overall experience wasn’t...
Read moreAfter waiting at the counter by the entrance for a while, someone asked if i wanted something to go. We wanted to sit and eat and were told to put our names on the list. If you are not a regular, you dont know that the list is on another countertop behind you and that information was not offered so I was a bit annoyed when I had to ask. Another 10 min goes by when another server asks if we are going to sit down. Why, yes, we'd love to, but she wasn't asking how many people and to follow her to a table, she was asking like are you going to just stand there all day or are you going to sit down. I said yes, we're waiting our turn as we're on the list. She sat us at a dirty table and came back to clean it up, no big deal. We waited about 20 min to order. Food was pretty good, but good Lord their condiment bottles were disgusting and I handled them with napkins. I had French Toast and they brought a shaker of powdered sugar to the table. I started shaking it onto my French Toast and the ceiling fan above was circulating so strongly it was blowing powdered sugar everywhere except on my breakfast. I watched a server wipe the shake machine nozzle, the part that stirs your shake, with a rag and toss it on the counter nonchalantly, no bucket or anything to sanitize it for whatever is wiped up next. Our server never came back after food was dropped off, except to give us the check. The best part about this experience was the kind server who wasn't even mine, asking if I'd gotten enough to eat and chatted me up a bit before taking my payment. She really was genuine and kind with a Southern accent. Not huge issues overall, but the service left much to be desired. I would probably give them another chance as sometimes it's just a bad day for a business and I happened to be...
