I have never left a Yelp review before, and do not like to do so especially if it is negative. However, I am hoping that leaving this review will be helpful in improving the customer service and restaurant experience, and be seen as a learning opportunity for this restaurant and their future customers. My party and I were looking forward to eating here tonight. It was a nice atmosphere with a friendly hostess, and our waitress was pleasant in the earlier part of our experience. When it was time to order, I ordered the vegetable fusilli pasta dish after attempting to order the half roasted chicken in which the waitress shared that they no longer had the roasted chicken available for the evening. The pasta dish arrived but was highly over-seasoned and very salty to the point of it becoming unpalatable, not just by me, but by others who tasted my dish in our party. We brought that to the attention of our waitress who replied that she guessed that I should have gone with the mushroom polenta dish and questioned if we still wanted to take the fusilli home. We respectfully declined. Nothing more was stated. My husband shared part of his dish with me, but we both left still hungry. Needless to say, after the experience with my meal, as well as my daughter's meal which was forgotten from ordering it earlier, and my other daughter's drink was missing, we do not plan on returning anytime soon. We originally planned on ordering dessert as well before this whole experience, but instead we went to the grocery store to get dessert, and to supplement our meals. Interesting enough, we experienced better customer service at the...
Read moreA Little Overpriced, but You Get Good Food on a Fantastic Balcony.
We had the pleasure of experiencing a perfect night and had to find a place with outside seating and good food. This fit the bill and came through for us. While you pay a premium price, you almost get an equally premium meal. However, don't let that stop you from trying this place.
For starters, we ordered the Cheese and Charcuterie Board ($24) that had two cheese and two charcuterie morsels with pickled vegetables, honey, mustard, fruit, on grilled bread. This was a letdown because you only get four--for that price, but they tasted great. For my entree, I ordered their Cheeseburger ($18), a half-pound patty with pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions, served with fries. It was a solid burger, but nothing to write home about. My date ordered the Linguini ($25), a medley of pasta, seasonal vegetables, and their house ricotta. She loved it and thought the it tasted great.
I really wish I could rate on the half-star, because this is another place that is a solid 3.5 Star, but because of the price-point, I have...
Read moreWe found this place walking down the "boardwalk". My friend and I had just played some disc golf, and, our lovely wives were shopping in the area. We spotted their car, and, decided to try to "pick 'em up" and see if they would have lunch with us Old Sweaty guys. Okay - I'm the only old guy, but, I kicked his buttocks at Disc Golf, it helped his arm was in a sling. ahhahahaa. So .. they decided we could buy them lunch - we'll turn that table in a while. So - down we go to the Truckee Tavern and Grill. Food was okay. Better than what I expected, not as good as I would have liked. We ate outside, as, girlfriend had her dog with her, can't go in with a dog. The ladies had a cocktail - and - were duly impressed. They made them pretty good. We all ate - like I said - food was okay! I ate it. I'll eat it again. Friends live in Truckee - so - we'll definitely eat there again (already have). The place is nice inside. If we ever go there without a danged dog, it would be fun eating and drinking inside. Go there .. you'll most likely enjoy it as much as I do...
