Made By Me — Attraction in Truckee

Suzette and Teddy are absolutely wonderful and make this place the special and unique sanctuary that it is. My family and I drove up to Truckee for the day and stumbled across this art studio. My youngest LOVES art so we stopped in to check it out. Suzette has set up an art lover’s paradise: from painting to making tiles she has it all. Your child can stay and do art, and you pay by the hour. My son is in 2nd grade and very independent and Suzette allowed him to stay while my husband, other two sons and I went to grab ice cream and drinks across the way. We checked in an hour later and he was having such a blast that he ended up staying until they closed, (2.5 hours total) and would’ve stayed longer if we’d let him! Ha! She is a retired school teacher and has created a peaceful spot (upstairs, beautiful views, quiet and serene) for kids and adults to get away and engage in everything creative. It’s apparent that she does this for the love of art and kids. Her son Teddy makes super cool unique bags and her daughter makes custom beannies. I wish we had this in Reno. This was such a fantastic experience! The colorful signage, which peaked our interest, is an indicator of all the fun opportunities you can find within the shop. The owner was there and graciously welcomed us. She spent over 2 hours with our child on various art projects: painting, sewing, beading, each time finding the teaching moments while I got to do something creative myself!
