One of two other museums in Truckee, the Truckee jail museum tells us the history of how the jail came into being in the silent lumber town of Truckee where crime rates were generally low until early twentieth century. There was a really friendly Truckee resident who spoke to us rather passionately about the jail and the two cells inside that was formerly a containment facility for murderers and drunken prisoners. Greg, who is the president and curator of this establishment is so personable and knowledgeable. As a native, he has many in depth and unique stories that I'm sure you can only get from him.
