Wong's Garden — Restaurant in Truckee

My family and I are from Washington state up past Vancouver. We spent the day at Kings Beach doing every activity you can think of. So we were starving to say the least by time we got here. My children loved the food. They ate literally almost everything gone but fried rice and a about 4-5 bites of each dish we had. I placed it all to leave with us. It was nice eating in a restaurant without inflated prices because we’re tourist. We were able to treat our kids to a decent dinner out for a fair price . When In area agin we’ll come back. Only negative is seating! Seating is very outdated an it was very hard for my 6’9 1/2 husband and 6’5 teenage son to sit comfortably. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves and the employees were all so kind so sweet...

This place used to be very expensive, but at least it was good. I called in an order to go, and the woman who answered the phone was obviously Mexican with a feeble command of english. She seemed annoyed at my asking not to put onions in my wife's chow fun. She told me the cooks only speak Chinese and only "...understand what I put in the machine."

Last time I went here for a "to-go" order, they shorted me on one of the things I ordered. I am super pro-business and like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I realize everybody can have a bad day...but I can vote with my dollar at any Asian restaurant. That's twice. I won't be back. Bad customer service, twice in a row...first time...

First timers rolling through town. Service was horrible. Once we finally got seated ( workers just looked at us) it took our "waitress 30 mins to take our order. There was only 3 other tables with customers but you would of thought it was over packed with the way the service was. Maybe it was a off day but I have a feeling it was just how it goes here. Not to sound like that kind of guy but the whole staff was Mexican and never saw a single Asian. Made me think I should of ordered Mexican food cause the food was not worth the price. It was editable but not worth the money. I could go on and on about our experience today but I'll stop now and just leave one last note..... no tip was...
