This was a VERY disappointing experience. Not the food or the wait staff but the MANAGEMENT was awful and rude. I tried to make a reservation for a group of 10-12 of us for a simple retirement nod to a local business man who was retiring after 40+ years. I was first told that they "don't take reservations for groups under 15". I was then directed to the Event coordinator because I asked if it would be okay to put a tablecloth and few short decorations on the tables. The event planner, Jessica, told me that it would be FINE as long as the decor, including balloons, weren't too tall. I agreed to that. A few days went by and I realized that our group was getting larger, as it was now 16. I called the restaurant again hoping to get a reservation as I was worried about finding a place for us. I believe that I spoke to the manager, a man. I started to ask about making a reservation and before I could complete my sentence, he cut me off and told me that they "don't take reservations". I told him we had 16 people and he said to talk to the EVENT coordinator. He hung up. When I talked to the EVENT coordinator, Jessica, I told her that I was worried about finding tables and she assured me that if I came early that they would find a place for us.
SO, imagine my surprise when I showed up early and started putting out my decorations and the manager came over to tell me that I couldn't do that without "a reservation". I replied that I was told by numerous employees (I think HIM included, that they "didn't take reservations". The manager was rude and hostile even after I told him that I had ok'd everything with the event planner, Jessica. He told me that he knew nothing about it. I offered to move to the enclosed outside area if we were an issue (ie., we were given two long tables in the sports bar area that has a lot of TV's). He declined my offer and walked off.
If it had been up to just me, I would have left, but everyone was already there and it was a surprise for our boss, who was on his way over any minute. So, we held our little get together and the waitstaff were very nice and kept apologizing for the manager's behavior. We were there for 2 hours and not once did the manager ever come over to apologize. I put most of my decorations back in my car. I don't feel like the failure of being informed about us coming is my fault nor did it warrant the kind of treatment we received from this manager. It is also absurd that first I was told (on two occasions that they don't take reservations, but then when I arrived, the manager said that I should've had a reservation in order to put up my decorations). Make up your mind and stick with one policy!
I will never go back to this place nor will any of the 15 people who...
Read moreFood and price wise this was great, however, I’m not saying this lightly that this was the worse customer service we’ve ever received. I never give these reviews either. Our waitress was actually good, but there was one particular staff member who worked there (Jessie I believe who was maybe a busser or hostess), wasn’t even our server, who went out of their way to harass us. Situation was our employee (company happy hour) came with a dog on the patio. Jessie kindly told us that we couldn’t have dogs on the patio because directly quoting “the owners hated dogs”. Ok. We complied by the rule, and I personally spent 30 min outside with the dog. Then we kept the dog on his leash right outside the patio and took turns giving it water (even though it’s 6pm and not hot in direct sun). Jessie came to our table to say the dog was crying and we cannot leave the dog there. Ok. We went and removed the dog willingly (rotating in and out to check on the dog in another place, give water, etc). Then the next place we put the dog away from other customers was still not good enough. She clearly was upset our employee didn’t leave right away like she wanted and sought out where ever the dog was. We decided to pay and leave. Ok. Then while we were talking on the sidewalk (completely outside of the establishment) with the dog, happily by our side, Jessie came around the corner, pointed in our faces to never come back. This was totally unprovoked, she went back onto the patio of the bar and disappeared. Ok. Then she sees us there a few min later still talking and she proceeded to yell off the patio that she called and reported the license plate of our employee. This dog was never in a car, always on the sidewalk, taken care of, and clearly she had no idea which car was hers. I then went to approach her and I said “that was really too far, where is your manager?” she replied “I don’t know” and shrugged. I did find a manager inside but due to the busy time we didn’t get a ton of time to explain the situation. He was very apologetic and said we are welcome back and asked us to go out the other side of the bar so we didn’t see her and she have another altercation with us. We explained we are not the type to just speak to a manager for a little reason and it was really that bad of harassment. Will we be back with our company? Probably not or at least not while she’s ever working there. I’m so passionate about this review that I welcome the manager or owners (if they are not as bad as Jessie implied) to reach out if more details are needed to assure this won’t happen to...
Read moreI stand by my poor review even though the manager posted texts of communication she had with our employee who was just making an inquiry. Since we did not need a special room set aside or any special set up of tables etc. we didn’t reserve any space. This wasn’t a company event, just some colleges who said hey we are going to do a HH at 3 -5 on Thursday. It was a “if you can drop in, great.” Mind you this was at 3:00 pm on a Thursday so it wasn’t like it was busy. When I arrived there were 4 ladies standing by the hostess desk with their back to the front door. I stood there for a few minutes listening and realized they were talking about some of my colleagues already seated outside who were disgruntled. When I went to the table I learned the manager had said we could only sit at a table for 6 because we didn’t pay to reserve the area. We said no problem we don’t need anything special, can just sit at empty tables and were told no. Manager said If other colleagues came, they would need to go on a wait list and may or not be seated due to only one served being available! Now if a place that seats probably 100 in the their establishment, only has one server, that’s a management issue, shouldn’t be a customer issue. We offered to go to the bar to order our drinks if they were server short.. NO not allowed. We said If it’s to create individual checks, iwe will pay on one credit card. That was a No. We offered to give them the $100 and told No. Honestly there was no working with the manager,. I said what would you do if 20-30 customers showed up? Would you turn them away? Anyway we went to Buffalo Wings down the street and even though they only had 1 bartender on duty when we arrived, they said no problem, there are lots of...
