My 8 year-old son and I visited the franchise on at 4280 La Vista Road this afternoon. Frankly, the whole experience was appalling.
My son urgently needed to use the restroom when we arrived at the restaurant. Upon our arrival, I greeted the cashier, let him know that I would be back to place my order, and proceeded to the back of the restaurant, where the restroom was located.
My son attempted to open the restroom door, but it was locked, as someone else happened to be using the restroom. A woman replied, with a noticeably annoyed tone, "Someone is in here." I told my son he would have to wait a few more moments because someone else was using the restroom. We proceeded to stand to the side of the restroom entrance and waited.
The woman who was using the restroom turned out to be an employee. As she was exiting, she told us the soap dispenser was not working and that we "would have to wash our hands in the front." The only other sink I am aware of at this location is in the kitchen. However, I said "thank you," let my son into the restroom, and proceeded to wait in front of the restroom.
After taking my place at the restroom entrance, I heard the employee who had been in the restroom talking about me, telling the rest of the staff "that man tried to come in on me." While she continued her loud rant, I made my way to the service area and asked another employee if it was normal for them to talk about customers in their presence. He proceeded to tell me "I think she meant it as a joke." I told him I did not see any humor in what she said and did not appreciate being characterized in the manner she was characterizing me, especially since it was an 8 year-old who had simply been trying to get to the restroom before he peed on himself.
My son ended up coming out of the restroom while I was talking to this team member. I happened to see a hand sanitizer dispenser nearby and assisted him with sanitizing his hands.
The woman who had been talking about me apologized for "joking around" the way she did. Given her conduct, the fact that there was not a working soap dispenser in the restroom, the fact that she was walking around in tearaway pants (like you would see on a basketball court), and the fact that no manager stepped forward to attempt to address the situation, I thanked the woman for her apology and told her my son and I would just go elsewhere.
Overall, the whole experience was very disappointing and frankly concerning. How does a restaurant, especially during a pandemic not have a working soap dispenser in their lone restroom? Why would I, as a customer, feel comfortable eating at a place where employees cannot immediately sanitize their hands after using the restroom prior to returning to the kitchen? Why would an employee think it was appropriate to tell a customer they would have to wash their hands in the front? Why were no other employees bothered by the fact that another employee was talking about a customer in...
Read moreTLDR: Avoid the location and if you must eat there, donât place an order online because they wonât follow it if you modify anything.
Iâve placed numerous orders at this location. All via online or their app. In at least 4-5 occasions the person making the sandwich did not follow my requests. Nothing extravagant. Simple things. No tomato. Add mustard. Add dijon. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Today was the last straw. I ordered online. Whoever made the sandwich ignored my requests completely and followed the normal recipe for the sandwich. Again, I didnât ask for anything extravagant as usual. EZ on the tomato and lettuce. Add dijon and mustard. None of this was followed.
To make matters worse, when I opened up the sandwich I found a hair on it. In the ages of masks over faces and always needing gloves and hairnets with food handling, you would think this wouldnât happen.
I called the store and spoke to an associate. I asked for the manager and she said, âI can help. Whatâs wrong?â I explained what happened. She then say, âOh, do you want to speak to a manager?â Maâam, this is who I asked for from the start and you acted as if you were the manager or were apart of the leadership team. You arenât though. She passed the phone off to a gentleman who identified himself as âRayâ. I repeated myselfâŚto Ray. As if it mattered, Ray asked what color the hair on the sandwich is. It was small, slightly curly, and black. Ray then went on to tell me they have a time limit to make the sandwiches in so they rush at times and like all humans can make mistakes. Unacceptable. The order prints a ticket to follow to make the sandwich. You cannot justify to me that paying customers should be casualtyâs off a Jimmy Johns time limit to make sandwiches. Not being able to make a sandwich in the given time is either a training or a staffing issue. Not a customer issue which Ray tried to make it for me. As I was explaining the situation and my disappointment, Ray decided to stop listening and over talk me. I politely froze Ray mid-interruption to explain I wasnât finished and he was listening to respond and not listening to understanding my frustration. I finished speaking without interruption. Ray then agreed the hair was unacceptable. Ray proceeded to offer me a store credit for a future in-store order. I declined. I advised I wonât be returning. To this location or any others in the future.
Why would I patronize a place that tried to tell me they donât have time to follow my order correctly? He basically was saying if Iâm not there to supervise the order being made their is room for error and health issues by not wearing hairnets. Spend your money elsewhere.
Before you corporate replies like they did with others, no Iâm not filling out a form for the owners. Iâve said my piece. The owner can come here to read it if they care to turn their store around. It isnât my job to fill out a form to make it...

I regularly need to order lunch for work meetings. We've used this Jimmy John's a hand full of times, and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. they have dropped the ball. Today, I placed an online delivery order at 11:20 am for 6 people. After almost an hour, I called into the store and the guy at the counter let me know that all deliveries were out, and it should be arriving soon. 30 more minutes pass so I call back up and get a lady who tells me the driver "Forgot the order at the store, and will bring it by after he is finished with his 7 deliveries" I asked if I could just come pick up the order myself and have the delivery fee waived, to which she agreed. Once I arrived at the store, Mrs. thang immediately had an attitude before she even knew who I was. Once I told her, that attitude rocketed. She told me they still had a sandwich left to make and asked me to wait, which was very inconvenient as I had already been waiting almost two hours, which is MORE than enough time to prepare 6 sandwiches. After that, she rudely told me to pick out the chips and drinks for everyone. Normally, I would not mind this, but everyone ordered their own drink/chips and I was unaware what everyone got. In this instance, after royally screwing this order up, I feel as though they had MORE than enough time to have the order ready and prepared for me, but if not, they should have gone the extra mile to try and rectify the situation as much as possible. She did end up giving me a $5 bill which was supposed to be a refund for the delivery fee.
I have worked in customer service my whole career, so I know that things happen that are out of your control. But the way the situation was handled afterword's, is completely unacceptable. It is painfully obvious that the manger lacks a significant amount of home training. The guy working besides her, was not AS rude, but they both suck.
The multiple experiences that we've had with this store, have been so bad that my company has BANNED us from using it again. Let that sink in. Please do not use this restaurant until they are under new management, or the current manager has been taught how to behave in public.
Also, I will be expecting my 7.25 check in the mail for the work I picked up for...
