I ordered a salad over the phone because the online ordering system did not allow me to customize my order the way I wanted. When I got there to pick up my order the to go cashier tried to charge me $7 extra even though over the phone I was told it would be the same price. The manager came and cleared that up. That was fine, and I got my food a few minutes later.
But as I am waiting for my co-workers food, who was able to order online, people are getting their food and leaving. There are a lot of us waiting. It is lunch time, I get it, but that is why you order in advance. When I asked her if she could go check on the order because he ordered his food the same time I did, she went to the kitchen, came back and didn't say anything.
When she saw me looking at her she said "Its coming". Then she said "What I should say is, its going to be a minute." I asked why would it be a minute when he ordered the same time I did and it has already been an extra 10 minutes. She said "because we are really busy, and its gonna be a minute." In a very condescending tone. I told her well its already been a minute. It should be done by now.
It does not bother me that they were busy during the lunch rush, it bothers me how it was handled by this cashier.
1.) Apologize for the inconvenience 2.) Don't go check on the order and then not address the customer who you went to go check on the order for. 3.) Don't tell the customer "It's gonna be a minute because you are busy" and certainly don't be condescending about it. 4.) Offer a fountain drink or something to your customers while they are waiting - especially if you know that its going to be a while.
I am not likely to dine here again. Especially since by the time I got my co-workers food and got back to work, my...
Read moreNote: several months ago I gave them a 1 star for my visit described below, but I can say that we still frequent here weekly and the service has been great. There's one woman in particular, don't recall her name but o believe she's a manager there now, who remembers people and provides exemplary service. This is one of our favorite spots in Tucker. The pizzas are good with a fresh crust, and the salads and sandwiches are always good.
First off, I'm a big fan of newks and eat here several times per week. However this Sunday night, the place was filth and the service was non existent. The men's bedroom had no soap and the floor was covered in toilet water. The women's bathroom had no soap and no toilet paper. How do the employees wash their hands after using the restroom??!??
The eating part was dirty as well. Half eaten breadsticks all over booths and paper trash littered on the floor. The boy taking our order could hardly even speak. I think grunt was his language.
The condiment bar was empty, save for croutons. I had to ask two employees and wait 10 minutes just to get cheese.
We've had such high hopes for all the new eateries in Tucker and we've already pretty much taken pollo tropical off our list for poor cleanliness and service.
I hope this was just a one time fluke from newks. Our setup seems to be that chick fill a is the only place that knows how to hire and train decent employees that care about the company...
Read moreThis was the BEST experience EVER at Newk's. We went yesterday evening and the experience wasn't bad just not as excellent at this evening. We were greeted warmly and when I placed my order the young man motioned for his supervisor to advise of my dietary restrictions + vegan. She assured me that she would change her gloves and prepare my salad herself. She went and came back and explained that my salad would take a little longer because she didn't want cross contamination and would make mine directly from the cooler. This made my heart glad. Kira (supervisor) made me feel like it was a pleasure to make my salad the way I needed it to be made. I tried to send feedback on the direct website but there wasn't a tab for it. So I hope and pray this gets to her. Thank you for taking all the necessary precautions to ensure I was able to enjoy my salad without having to make a trip to...
