Not a fan by any means. Arrived for lunch, it's a seat yourself establishment so we secured a nice booth. The table appeared clean but was still sticky. Several minutes passed before someone delivered menus advising that the server would be over to take our drink orders. Apparently despite being in the desert, waters aren't routinely delivered here unless requested. My lunch companion and l both elected to have the single bacon cheese burger, additionally we ordered a side of fried okra. The burgers were under $9/ea. and the okra was $4.59 The burgers, while edible were reminiscent of something from a grade school cafeteria. Buns un-toasted, patties resembling some flavorless unknown substance and warm but not hot fries. The fried okra was woody, tough and extremely overpriced based on the small bowl portion size. Overall to be generous, we felt our food absolutely sucked. Dining out isn't about stuffing your face, it's about the experience, l want to feel valued, I want to be treated as a guest and l want food that rocks, sadly Jerry Bob's is obviously unable to deliver any of these desired qualities. I question if they even cook anything or just reheat premade or prepackaged stuff up? The only thing remotely special about this place is the seldom seen payphone out front. This is not an establishment that I'll be returning to. It is not an establishment that l recommend you visiting. I used to love eating here but those days are...
Read moreI was traveling on work from Phoenix in Tucson and on the recommendation of my client I decided to try Jerry Bob's. The interior of the restaurant is dated and minimalist but very well maintained. They have all the things that you would expect to find on a diner menu. I went with the French toast supreme which is one of the specials. It comes with four half slices of French toast one egg and your choice of two bacon strips, two sausage links or one of each. Service was brisk and polite with no unnecessary chit chat. The food came to the table quickly making this a great place to sit down if you don't have a whole lot of time. As for the food itself the French toast was passable but the crusts were still dried out as they probably not been left to soak for enough time in the egg wash. As for my sides my over easy egg was cooked to perfection the sausage link was a bit bland and the long very thin bacon strip was crispy.
With a glass of iced tea the whole meal came out to $19.53 after a 20% tip. From beginning to end I would say that Jerry Bob's is a "safe" choice with nothing to recommend strongly for...
Read moreThe service is great and responsibly quick. I usually eat breakfast and can say it is great.
Meals I would recommend has to be the Square Meal; hash brown, ham, onion, cheese and eggs. And can choose whether bread or pancakes.
For lunch. I ate only once because, I keep choosing that Square Meal. Lunch has to be Tex Mex, and the picante sauce is truly a master piece (not fire spicy, but good)
My father is in love with the Steak breakfast. My mother hearts the BLT, and my brother; cheese burger or egg and pancakes.
Honestly. If you’re fed up going to big name restaurants, give Jerry...
