I am currently sitting in the play place dining area. There are countless flies and several beetles crawling around. I come here often, at least 3 times a week. I truly enjoy visiting McDonald's. I believe they're a good company and I have even used the Ronald McDonald House when my child was in the hospital.
This location just seems to get worse, despite recent renovations. The play place structure was recently replaced during the renovation. It's much smaller and has less activity opportunities. Instead of a large place to climb and explore, now there is just a big slide. The added computers are kind of nice but I'd rather my child get physical play exercise than to just sit in front of a screen and eat. Especially living in the hot, dry, desert we seek refuge in McDonald's play place to get out of the heat on boring days.
As well as a new play place area, the restaurant added self serve stations where customers can order and pay. I'm thankful for this addition because there is hardly ever anyone at the counter. I have watched many staff members just sit around the dining area. Many employees seem to bring their kids to work, as I watch children run back n forth seemingly asking a parent for various things or permissions.
We seem to always get the same toys too. I feel it's a slightly minor complaint, but it's upsetting to continuously purchase the same things over and over. Upon asking for a trade I've been told numerous times that the toy received was all they had, yet I see other children with different toys. I will add, however, on one occasion we asked for a trade in toy and was allowed to keep the initial toy we received.
Our food usually comes out fairly quickly, but it's hardly warm. Which is a conundrum. Not every time, but most of the time the food isn't as hot as I'd expect. They are very stingy about napkins too. I've never received any with my meal, nor is there a caddy near the drink fountain. You have to go wait for someone to get to the counter to ask for napkins.
I do enjoy McDonald's very much but this location is just...
Read moreWhat can I say about this place, it's McDonald's. I usually don't eat at McDonald's because to me it's like kids food but we needed something quick and easy and cheap so we decided to stop here. The parking lot was clean they had some girl outside at the drive-thru trying to be like in and out burger with a little computer doing I don't know what.the parking lot was clean freshly paved very nice looking. I go inside and it looks like they had just mops so the inside look really clean they are doing social distancing every other table is blocked off the play area is closed for the kids so that's really good. they have a really good deal the two for six mix and match deal that's what we ended up getting I got the quarter pounder which is pretty good I like to go back and forth from the quarter pounder to the big Mac but you can make some match so that's really good. when you do order a drink you do have to let the guy get it for you but they don't get it from behind a counter they come out into the lobby and serve your drink to you there and then bring it to your table so that was nice to have table service out of McDonald's. The guy who helped us was really nice and polite so I do appreciate that. However I didn't get his name. the restrooms are open here for customers so feel free to use those I didn't use them so I don't know how clean they were but they are open. They have hand sanitizer at the door and by the counter and they were fully filled. at the time I went the place was not crowded at all we were able to find the seat away from other people we did dine in. The only thing that's a little tricky is the parking lot is a bit small so you have to be careful of where you come out from cuz then it's hard to get onto...
Read moreAfter a long break from visiting this McDonald's location, I gave it another try.
The store is: convenient, pretty clean, and staffed well. People don't go to McDonald's expecting a life-changing experience and this store delivers just that - mediocrity. I placed a very simple and basic (eat in) order, via the kiosk, and waited ...and waited.
After 12 minutes, my order of a plain Hot & Spicy Chicken Sandwich and a soft drink, was ready. Not earth-shattering speed, but it also could have taken longer. I sat down, opened the bag, unwrapped the sandwich, and the order was wrong. Apparently, simple and basic, isn't. Not wanting to wait another 10+ minutes for a corrected order, I modified the order myself, scraping and removing the excess condiments.
No, it wasn't the end of the world, but it DID show that someone wasn't paying attention.
As I stood waiting for the order, I watched as four (visible) employees kept pulling out their phones to respond to messages, social media, or themselves. This issue isn't exclusive to McDonald's, it's everywhere and crosses all age groups.
The issue is, there's little or no management in this particular McDonald's location. They may have a "Lead" or "Supervisor" that they work under, but there's no management of orders, time, and customer service. I wondered just how many employees, who weren't within view, were also busy playing on their phones.
Again, this store was staffed well, with an abundance of employees - they just weren't there to work. Perhaps a name-change to "My McSocial Life" would be a better description of what the employees expect from the...
