Deceptive pricing, but the food is great.

I'll start with the good: the food here is consistently good. When I went in, I could see that the place was clean and well kepy. You wait a couple minutes for your food but considering everything was made to order, decently fast. The staff are not overly welcoming, but honestly didn't hate that. We go pretty hard on customer service in the States and having a break is nice. There are not many seats to eat, mostly just a place to wait. Staff were pretty good about food safety, as I watched the person up front put new gloves on when transitioning from the register to food. Basics, but often missed.

Now, here's my problem with some of the pricing deception.

On food delivery apps, you are going to be paying $1.50 extra per item when ordered on delivery. Restaurants are in charge of setting their own pricing, and I understand delivery apps take a portion of that. But when you regularly see 20-50 cent increases, $1.50 feels steep. This is not deceptive, per se, but it feels unnecessary. When I was in the restaurant, I shared the same concern. When I initially came in, I thought the delivery prices were $2 more per item. This is because everything is advertised as cheaper than I was charged. I understand prices may need to change, but for a menu that's electronic and an easy fix, I see no reason that everything should ring up $.50 more expensive than advertised. It's an unpleasant surprise for customers, at least, and false advertsing/deceptive pricing, at worst.

But when people are counting pennies like they are nowadays, these practices are awful for consumers....

On approaching the store I noted a clean and organized outside area. With examples of the food they serve on the windows. Upon entering the store the lobby was clean and organized with a little bit of dirt on the window sills and music playing that wasn't to loud (I used to work as a manager so I noticed these things.) The register and kitchen area are clean and in good repair. The server Emmanuel was positive, patient, and helpful with my order due to it being my first time. Combo comes in at around $10 and some change and includes a dog with french fries, and a drink. It was a little bit above my budget but still fairly affordable in my mind. I went with a dog and a drink which came out to a little over $9. I was surprised to find out that the drinks were refillable as long as you were at the store and ordered it. So all in all definitely worth the price. I went with a Classic Korean corndog. Upon receiving the product it was very clean, everything felt good, and it tasted great. I haven't tried any fancy corn dogs beyond just batter and a dog. Have to say I was very satisfied with him.

Definitely worth a visit even if you're only going to try it once. They have options for everybody including vegetarians. Although if you are a vegetarian you might not want to go here. I asked a staff member and they cook the plant based sausage in the same oil.

I would...

Coming in I said HELLO how are you?! I was positive. No response, looked at but no response. The lady at the cash register was a bigger girl with black curly hair. She had no personality and lacked any and maybe all customer service skills. The smaller lady doesn’t acknowledge you or even say anything to you when she give you your order.. the man that was there was probably the best one. He at least speaks to you and helps out the best he can. I encourage them to get new staff, I’m not sure if they own it since there was a very young child in the back of the restaurant. Thee experience with the staff was 1/10 and that’s because of the gentleman that helped us after we brought back our messed up order.

I ordered 4 dogs and a elote. The elote was the best, tho still a 3/10. The corn dogs aren’t great. We ordered the spicy, original, and a potato dog. The potato is a 2/10 and the spicy is a 1. The staff really made this experience though. The rudeness of each team member really messed up the excitement I had to try this for the first time.. then the corn dog in general lacks so much flavor.. really you’d be better but a hotdog from QT....

The phone is disconnected and there's a fan blowing that usually means a water leak somewhere they're covering up, annoying when you have to wait in a blower fan vortex. How hard is no ketchup? I don't speak spanish but I kept hearing "salsa" which means sauce, one sounded annoyed with the other and they didn't redo it... nope they put ketchup on a whole extra dog as well that doesn't get it. Bad help, bad manager, I'm not saying it's the language but english helps. No salsa could mean any sauce, no ketchup means no ketchup. English helps, not spanish, in a "Korean" place. If they didn't screw up my order I wouldn't comment but one of them obviously noticed but it still went out wrong and I don't speak the language fluently. Tone is universal. $30 and it's only 60% correct, that's an F wherever you're from.

Few months ago at another location in Tucson, i have got a card like this. This card was accepted at 2 different locations. Unfortunately not at the location at Broadway. I’ve ordered 2 items and when it came to pay I’ve presented the card belowed. The server was shocked and surprisingly asked me: “What is this ?” At this moment I didn’t even know how to reply because I felt embarrassed. Are you trying to tell me you and other locations have same menus and same prices but as a chain restaurant you don’t have same promotions or you don’t accept a card for points that is clearly from your business ? I don’t understand It’s crazy !!!! Managers need to talk
