September 2021: The food is generally pretty good, nothing to write home about (but that's to be expected from really any drivethru restaurant). The problem is that the service isn't always that good. I asked for a sandwich and a water, but the person taking my order started getting clearly angry because she couldn't hear me. Trust me, I understand that, and I understand being frustrated at the end of a long day. But in the restaurant business, 50% of the reason you're paid is to try and not be a jerk.
When I got to the window, I paid, was handed my bag and my card, and told to have a nice night. No water. I didn't really care, I was tired and ready to leave. A few minutes later I checked my receipt to make sure that water didn't cost me anything worth going back for. Well, the water wasn't on my receipt, but they charged me for "3x extra sauce" which I didn't ask for. I understand being pissed because you can't hear someone, but is it worth intentionally trying to mess up someone's food and making them pay money for it? No, no not really. I'll be honest, maybe I gave a little attitude too when speaking up so the person taking my order could hear, but I hardly yelled. So 2 stars for occasional passive aggressive service. You're better off going elsewhere, especially at night.
June 2024 Update: I finally returned to this Zaxbyâs after nearly 3 years of boycotting. My boyfriend and I got the MrBeast meal, which is their current promotion. It honestly was pretty good, although the Feastable bar just tastes like Hersheyâs and has a somewhat bile-like aftertaste. They also forgot the BBQ sauce packs we specifically asked for and were even on our receipt, so theyâre still forgetting things all these years later.
Now, originally I gave Zaxbyâs two stars because despite their abysmal service, the food was at least passable. But today we paid $32+ for some good chicken, half the sauce we paid for, and middle-of-the-road fries/funnel cake.
It also took 20 minutes for us to get our food. We were told to pull up to the white line, after which some guy behind us yelled at us for blocking him. I guess he had an ego problem. Several people behind us got their orders before we did, so Iâm assuming we were simply forgotten about. We did eventually get our food and as I said, it was good overall. Maybe not worth $32+ or a 20 minute wait though. If you donât mind an uncoordinated staff (who will mess up your order) and donât feel like waiting double the time for Caineâs though, go for it! At least Zaxbyâs fries arenât oddly wet like Caineâs so honestly it could be better...
Read moreZaxby's at 1013 West Barnes Crossing Road in Tupelo, MS: We ordered 1 Big Zax Snack meal, 2-4 piece fingers meals and 1 Kickin Chicken Meal. The employee, "Lanadia", handed us a few sacks and walked away from the window. We thought this was strange and wasn't sure if she gave us all our food or if she was just rude, but because she just walked away without saying ANYTHING and didn't return, we assumed that was all of our food. Before we left the parking lot, we checked all the orders just in case and sure enough, we only got 1 of the 4 piece meals, the other 2 had only 3 pieces in them-which one of them was correct. We had to go back through the drive thru since that is the only thing open and now there were two vehicles in the drive thru, so we had to wait. Our cold food was now going to be even more cold. When we got to the window, "Lanadia" asked for all of our food back even though we only needed one more strip and Zaxby's sauce, and we only gave her the one with 3 fingers in it back. She accused us of already getting sauce and told us it would be $.50/each for more, we declined since we would be charged. I asked her for our receipt since we never got one and about 10 minutes later, we got our 4th chicken finger. Horrible service, cold, old, nasty food, terrible employee with BAD attitude! Worst Zaxby's we have ever had...
Read moreNormally I never have a problem coming here, but when I came today I ordered a kickin chicken sandwich meal and a signature sandwich meal with the sauce on the side. When I received it, the kickin chicken had no sauce and the signature meal had sauce on it. I know this couldâve been a simple mix up so I went inside and just asked them to put sauce on the kickin chicken and to give me a signature sandwich with no sauce. After 15 minutes of waiting inside listening to the workers argue, I was handed a signature sandwich, but not the kickin chicken. I asked for the kickin chicken and then the workers argued back and forth for a minute before I received the kickin chicken. When I finally got my corrected food, I got to the car only to find my fries were now cold and there were no pickles on my sandwich. I will say, the girl that rang me up in the drive thru did it correctly and was very kind the whole time. I went inside with what I thought would be an easy fix. If the workers had chosen to fix it rather than argue with each other for 15 minutes, I would not be writing this. I also was not given the sauce that I requested to be on the side, and was told it would be an extra 25 cents...
