Waffle House — Restaurant in Tupelo

I’m only giving a 1 star in order to post this. But I went in and we waited on a table. When a couple got up we went to sit there. Instead of the girl who serviced the table previously telling us right away that we had to wait until the table was cleaned to sit. She ignored us, and didn’t say a single thing. It wouldn’t have been a problem to stand up and wait because we had already been waiting. 15 minutes go by with her ignoring the table and I finally ask her was this still her table and she said yes. So I say we’ll the table hasn’t been cleaned and you haven’t even acknowledged us. So she says I’ll be with you in a second. She goes to speak with the guy at the grill and he makes an announcement saying “the cdc says if a table isn’t cleaned you need to wait for it to be cleaned to be seated”. WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN SAID 15 MINUTES AGO WHEN WE SAT DOWN!!!! When we asked why she didn’t let us know, he lied and said he did. That was our first time even speaking to him since we stepped foot in the place. They’re rude and disrespectful and we will never return to this Waffle House. Also, he’s spewing CDC guidelines while NONE of the employees are wearing mask and are in constant close contact. So make it make...

Christen(I think is how it was spelled) is NOT a person I would willing see here. I don't care how hungry I am I would turn around and walk out. She did not wash her hands after coming back inside. Had LOTS of time for her phone and gave everyone plastic wear. I had to eat steaks with a plastic fork. The cook(Kim) worked much harder than the server. If the server would have brought my food to the table I would have left it. $26 order. Another customer was also unhappy with her service. We both asked for to go plates; I asked mine to be served in a to go plates & to go cup for my drink. That way if I didn’t finish I could just put it the top on it and be ready to go. Hated every bit of our trip tonight. I understand being busy, but when you’ve got people lined up in front of the counter to the point where people can’t pay. Plus the amount of outrageous customers that were practically naked. Not one employee or manager handled it except for one manager and the next time we see him he’s getting a huge tip. Our waitress(been there for maybe 2 months) had a terrible attitude on her shoulders and her customer service skills were 0. The only person who actually cared if we enjoyed our meal was the manager and the new waitress(just started tonight).
