Vale's Kafe & Kitchen — Restaurant in Union City

Update: Two years later, Pedro and his wife outdone themselves. They’ve extended the menu and I just tried their salmon dish. My Goodness! How delicious and filling. I bring family here every time they’re in town. Love coming here to dine in or takeout. Keep up the amazing work!!

My partner and I first came across this spot on our daily walks last week with our dog. We checked out the menu and noticed it was a brunch spot. We don’t have many or any of those in our area so we were intrigued! A brunch spot 4 blocks away from home? We saw that they had perfect reviews so needless to say, we couldn’t wait to come in and try their food. I called in advanced to ask about their reservation policy and if they were pet friendly, as we love taking our dog everywhere we go. They were! Today we tried out Vale’s for the first time and we already cannot wait to return. The service was wonderful! Vania (or Vanya - sorry if I spelled this incorrectly) the owner and her husband opened not too long ago. She was so warm and welcoming and genuinely interested in our names as well as our dog’s. Throughout our experience at Vale’s, we learned that the restaurant was named after their daughter Valeria and we felt right at home. Community is hard to come by when you’re going out to eat. We wanted to eat everything off the menu but for the obvious reasons, we will return to try the things we didn’t today over time. Immediately we were served small pitchers of water with lemon. Great start! I ordered a double shot of espresso with oat milk and raw sugar on the side, and the prosciutto Benedict. It was PERFECT. And I’m a coffee and food snob. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the side salad it came with was fresh and balanced out all the flavors. My partner ordered a caramel iced latte with almond milk and the huevos rancheros. I had a bite of his food and it was really good! We also split the French toast with berries. It was the first time I had French toast with mint, and I was apprehensive about it but when I took a bite, I was surprisingly pleased. We spent less than $60 on all three dishes and coffee and couldn’t believe it. We noticed they had outlets and other pastries and I’m looking forward to coming here again with my partner, friends, and even by myself with my computer. The place was also designed beautifully, and the artwork was nice. I appreciate these things in restaurants. I also have to give a shoutout to Elizabeth who made our coffee and checked in with us regularly. We left feeling full, happy and are looking forward to returning and supporting this family...

As someone who’s been in a lot of caffès and restaurants ,I gotta say this is one of the top 5 I’ve visited. The place is cozy and pristine. Starting by the decoration, the colors, plants and furnitures build a great experience since from the beginning. The menu is clean and objective. Nothing extra or too much. First time I tried their signature burger and was surprised. The details on the recipe were somehow unexpected and unforgettable. Second time, I tried the weekend brunch menu. The steak and salad are something out of this world! The seasoning, meat quality, presentation, and most important the flavors are unique.They’ve been working really hard to offer this experience to the customers. Everything was fresh, tasty, rich and well prepared. Fast service, polite staff. A place to go with high expectations of being well served, I’m sure they won’t disappoint you. Stopped by here because they had good reviews. My husband and I were looking for a breakfast place to grab a quick bite. And we absolutely fell in love with this place the owner was so sweet and tended to us so well. The service was superb and even though the menu looks small the food does not lack in flavor! We ordered lattes and matchas to try and they were also very very good! The place is cozy, everything was clean and organized. And to top it off the fact that the restaurant is named after his daughter really warmed my heart. I wish nothing but the best for them you can tell that they're going to be a great addition into the union city community.
