I don't even have the words to express my absolute disgust and disdain for my experience at the Union City location this morning. The store was closed upon my arrival which was minutes after the time in which it was suppose to open (10 a.m.). I made multiple attempts (tried each door) to enter the establishment after no one answered the drive thru window. I watched a staff of at least five watched me through the diner window as I struggled with a locked door, the time was 10:29 a.m.
I thought I was on an episode if PUNK'D when I watched as an elderly, Caucasian male was able to gain access and was served, the door was being promptly locked behind him, while several people (in the drive thru and the parking lot) of color was denied access. I began to take footage of the elderly man dinning inside of the restaurant . I called the store and asked to speak with a manager, I was told that he was not there but would return in about twenty minutes. I asked for the store's number of the location and a number to the corporation, I was provided with neither. At some point the manager magically appeared, tapping on my car window telling me to come in, and seeking to silence me by allowing me to enter but being dissmive of my complaints. When I told him his staff was rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional, he simply stated "he was sorry" and that was it. I proceeded to place my order , he apologized again, I told him that sorry wasn't enough and said that he would discount my meal. I replied Sir, I can pay for my own meal, I prefer to be respected. This manager is of African descent and the entire staff this morning was people of color, finding joy in denying access to their own two women of color while taking joy in allowing access to a Caucasian male. We were also told that he was allowed entrance because he has a "courtesy pass". This is a horrible display of the Wendy's...
Read moreWent to this location last night, ordered biggie bags for 5 kids.. older Caucasian gentleman in the window making drinks with no gloves, so I asked for each drink to be remade with gloves on, he proceeds to wash his hands and remake the drinks still with no gloves on.. so I tell him once again I would like him to put on gloves.. He then speaks to a gentlemen who comes to the window and I explain again, this gentleman has touched all over the tops of our drinks I would like them remade. This gentleman tells me it is not a requirement for them to wear gloves! I've worked in the food and beverage industry for a long time and have NEVER heard it's not a requirement to handle food/drinks with no gloves.. furthermore where is the customer service? If I've requested that as a paying consumer why is that such a huge request to throw on some gloves for 2 secs to make sure children aren't getting sick due to the lack of sanitary practices. Probably prepared our food with no gloves, something I can't see, but my drinks I could and there shouldn't have been a "it's not a requirement " it should have been yes we can do that for you! Customer service is always priority! I run a restaurant and I wish my employees would say that to a customer in regards to gloves and their food, let me come manage this place cause that is nonsense, gloves should be worn at ALL TIMES, and switched out every so...
