As someone who often takes pictures of food, I also give honest and true reviews. I very rarely write negative reviews unless it is im relations attrocious customer service. I believe in the value of serving the community and by posting these honest reviews, I hope it will push these companies to improve their standards for their future clients.
This one bothers me more than most because I recommended PIRI PIRI BBQ in the past because their food is honestly pretty incredible. My issue is completely with the service. I have personally recommended this place to friends and family members as well so it really disappoints me to have to write this.
I first felt burnt when I called in June and asked for extra hot sauce. I had a short conversation with the person on the phone about how much I like the hot sauce (my personal essential need for Portuguese BBQ) just to be disappointed with both late delivery and NO HOT SAUCE. After calling back it, I got a "I am sorry we were busy and forgot theres nothing we can do". After messaging them on Facebook they finally responded apologizing and offering a discount on my next order. I thanked them completely understanding that mistakes can happen. I then ordered a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce in case they forgot again.
I called a week later for another delivery. They first declined my discount. I ordered anyways and figured I would just ask them about it again next time. This time they forgot my entire order of plantains after i paid for it. I had to wait an hour after I recieved my order to get the plantains.
I complain again to whomever on Facebook Messenger to finally get my "10% discount for my aggrivations". From here things finally began to go smoothly. Then today arrived at 6:49PM when I called for my usual Whole Chicken with Rice and Spanish Fries. I then went along with my day just to realize at 8:00PM that the food has still yet to arrive. I call back at 8:06PM to ask how much longer would I wait for the food. The person on the phone stated "Someone just left I am sorry we were busy". I tell them no problem and tell them that I understood. I continue waiting until 8:40PM when I called to a no answer and then finally got a pick up at 8:42PM. The lady picks up again and apologizes stating "I dont have a delivery driver". At this point I am infurriated because only thing left now was fast food. They offered me a discount next time.
To be absolutely clear, I am not upset by any means with them not being able to deliver. My frustrations come from the 2 hours worth of lies and being dragged. I feel like I was severely deprioritized after giving my credit card to them over the phone.
To conclude I want to apologize dearly to anyone I have recommended this restaurant to. I will never order from someone who would take your payment then lie for 2 hours about delivering your food. I never want to see bad things happening to companies but I hope you can improve and show better service to other clients. I have never been this infuriated with my food service. I have ordered from places with terrible food but great service and never once complained for anything outside of attrocious customer treatment. Thank you for ruining my Friday night Piri Piri BBQ in Union! Great food does not mean you can provide bad service! I am going back to Burnet BBQ!! GUESS IM HAVING POPEYES TONIGHT!

First, I ordered delivery at 4:30pm today (Friday) and ordered a half picadinho mixto with shrimp, garlic chicken and shrimp with rice and fries and a piece of tres leches. The lady on the phone said it would take 30 minutes but an hour passed and the food wasnβt here yet so I had to call. The delivery driver showed up about 10 minutes after the call. She called me and I asked her to leave the food in the porch along with the receipt for me to sign and she could grab it after I close the door. Well, she left it outside on my steps and had to go back to her car for the receipt which resulted in me having to grab the receipt from her hand which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Anyway... the food was packaged extremely messy and the tres leches cake spilled in the bag and on the table (it was packaged sideways). The picadinho was bland and I had to essentially drown it in hot sauce. There was also a large piece of bone from the chicken. My husbandβs chicken and garlic was lacking in the flavor department as well and he was disappointed that the shrimp was just placed on the top rather than being mixed into it. Although there was no sauce so there was not much to mix it with anyway.
Overall, we have decided we will pass on ordering from here and will continue to frequent other bbq restaurants. Hopefully they take this time to work...
Β Β Β Read moreWe ordered from here over the weekend and it was AWFULl! I don't like writing poor reviews, but I felt like I had to since I've never disliked food as much as I did from here! I ordered some meats to be cooked to medium and we ended up getting rubbery, overcooked beef. It was inedible. The empanadas were burnt and so were the fries. There was a weird aftertaste that I think is probably from using old oil to fry everything in. The only thing that we could eat were the boiled vegetables.
