Last week marked one year since I started practicing yoga ā a milestone I never imagined reaching, especially considering how my journey began.
I came to yoga at the end of my breast cancer treatment. I was physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and honestly, scared. After enduring harsh rounds of chemo, I wasnāt sure Iād even be able to move the way I used to ā let alone flow through a class.
Then I met Yaya.
She welcomed me in and helped me find peace in the middle of a storm. Her presence, her guidance, her energy ā it all made me feel like I was stronger than the chaos around me. Iāll never forget the moment I took her slow flow class and realized⦠I wasnāt as broken as I thought I was.
From there, I kept going. I began taking sculpt classes with Erica and Jess, and wow ā these women brought out a version of me I hadnāt met yet. Iāve never felt stronger ā mentally or physically.
And then thereās Rochelle. We connected on such a deep level, not just as a student and teacher, but woman to woman, mother to mother. She made me feel like I was capable of so much more than I ever believed.
Today, Iām taking sculpt classes, running 2 miles a day, and feeling more alive than I have in years.
This studio⦠this space⦠itās magic. Itās fun, itās uplifting, and itās filled with people who truly care.
And none of it would exist without Vivi, who has created a beautiful, safe, empowering space for all of us ā men and women alike ā to heal, to grow, and to thrive.
