Wendy's — Restaurant in Union

This location was recently remodeled and seems to be restarted also. Maybe training staff but I could be wrong. Upon the re-opening, service was exceptional for weeks and even there after. I normally take my kids during daytime hours and all was well. Tonight I made a quick stop for my 5 yr old and I was missing bbq sauce for the nuggets (they asked me for at the drive thru while ordering), I asked as I received the order was the bacon and cheese added to the chicken sandwich like I ordered and was told yes. I paid and proceeded to pull over in the lot before I got too far and something is either incorrect or missing. I checked the sandwich and there was no cheese. So I drove back around and paid for another sandwich the same way but fresh. They took my sandwich back and I'm assuming they were going to throw a cold piece of cheese on it and hand it back (it's happened multiple times before). That is why I paid for a fresh one. The quality of the food is always top notch here, which is why we return. The service I guess varies upon the shift or who's working maybe. This was my first night visit since the remodel and it could have just been an off night. No one is perfect all the time and I don't expect it but there is a level of service I'm sure Wendy's would expect you to maintain. So I went to the drive through and placed my order. I asked for two singles with onion, pickle and mayonnaise ONLY. Regrettably, I did not check to make sure it was done correctly. Alas, both burgers had cheese. I guess "Only" means "add anything else you randomly feel like you should just to increase the price." As far as I know, cheese is not only automatically included on everyone's burger. Also, it most definitely does not qualify as either pickles, onions or mayonnaise. I was very upset and was waiting patiently for this review to appear so I could let everyone know just how ignorant it was to add cheese to my burgers. Suffice to say, I will make sure, if I ever return to this location, ever, (doubtful) that I clearly and legibly specify NO CHEESE, on either burger. Again, why would any sane person assume that this is required?? Oh yeah, also-- $16.00 for two singles and a SMALL diet coke....

I love Wendy’s. The meal I just had lived up to my expectations. I did the 2 for $5 with a Dave’s single and a Spicy Chicken sandwich. The burger was ready immediately but the chicken was not, so I had to wait. This was fine since I was dining in. The staff was so kind and apologetic for my wait. They told me to sit and they would bring out the Spicy Chicken when it was ready. The burger was juicy and delicious and I enjoyed every bite, and just as I was finishing my burger the wonderful staff brought me out a fresh hot Spicy Chicken sandwich. Score!! It was the best Spicy Chicken sandwich I have ever had.....and I’ve had a lot. Job well done Wendy’s of Union in Rt 22! I don’t live in the area and the Wendy’s out in Chester, NJ that I go to is terrible compared...
