One angry jerk having a bad day destroyed a loyal customer relationship.
I was a regular customer, liked the pizza. Ordered once a week usually for maybe a year. Decent pizza, nice people. We tipped pretty good, I thought. My wife and I remember having tough jobs like this when we first started out. The guys recognized me when I got pick-up orders. Everybody seemed really nice.
My last phone order I called and the guy answering the phone must have been having a bad day, I decided to just end the call, canceled my order, figured I'd call back later get a different guy. But the guy called me back, and gave me crap about me hanging up on him, so I asked to speak to the manager. He didn't even bother to cover the phone as he said, "some guy being a dick on the phone wants to talk to the manager."
When the manager gets on the phone asks me what's wrong, I say your guy just called me a dick, and the manager says, "no he didn't." He then repeatedly denied it happened.
I tell him I'm a regular customer, I've never had any problems with them before, and now we both heard your guy call me a dick, or you wouldn't even be on the phone, it was all in one sentence, "some guy being a dick on the phone wants to talk to the manager." The hell with this. I hang up.
The manager obviously looks up my number in their records, calls back all apologetic, offering me a free pizza. WTF??? I tell him no thanks, I appreciate what he's trying to do but I don't want a spit covered pizza from some place that just called me a dick, and a liar BEFORE they knew who I was.
I'm just not that comfortable eating any food delivered by some angry guy who's having a bad day and wants to take it out...
Read moreI've been eating Georgio's for most of my life, having grown up in the heights, and I've always liked them... This location today, though, was absolutely awful to my friend and me. My friend ordered me a pizza because I've been sick, with no cheese (he didn't select any cheese choices in the Slice app and there was no "No Cheese" choice), because I'm lactose intolerant. When they delivered me a pizza with cheese, he called them to ask for a refund or replacement, and instead of just eating the couple bucks of cost, they blamed him for not saying "no cheese" in the message. They refused to give a refund, and told him to call the app he used. He did this, and the app rep called them with him on the phone. The Georgio's employee they spoke to at this point called my friend a liar for pointing out that one of the employees admitted to not reading his message, then hung up on him when he got angry about them calling him one.
After he called again, they agreed to re-deliver the pizza, something they could have done in the first place... and when that 2nd pizza was delivered, it didn't have any chicken on it, despite that being in the original order (you can see it in the first photo). I'm eating it anyway, because it's been hours since the original order. It's amazing to me that despite there being a legitimate food allergy complaint about a simple mistake they made, they wouldn't just own up to it, made my friend run around in circles just to try and get his money back for food that I couldn't even eat, and then they STILL couldn't get the order right. Read morePlaced an order online, received text and email confirmation as well an update stating my order would take 10min longer than previously stated. 1.5hrs later called and was assured the order was 'en route'. Called 30min later when the pizza didn't arrive, apparently they could see it was placed but it was never made or sent. They said they'd get it to me in 20min, offered $3 off. At this point, it was the fastest way we'd get something to eat, and it was 8:15pm so we where pretty hungry. I called again at 8:45pm when it again didn't arrive, was told again it was on its way. By 9:15, almost 3 hours after our order was placed and 4 phone calls later, my patience ran out. I canceled the order and we made grilled cheese.
