The beef & chess empanadas were delicious. The chips and salsa were just okay. I prefer light and crispy chips, but these were thick and hard. The salsa was just OK. I ordered cheese dip, it was average. The beef, chicken and chorizo fajitas were very tasty, although my beef was overcooked. I asked for medium well and got extra well done. The Texas margarita was a little below average. Tasted like some thing you could’ve made from home with little effort. I didn’t taste any of the juices that were supposedly in it. The rice with the entrée was nice and fluffy. The beans were tasteless so I doused it with hot sauce that you can ask the server for. We had the Tres Leches cake for dessert. My friend loved it, but it was just average for me. It was a mix of the traditional Mexican cake and an American cake with whipped cream and chocolate on top. The service was great all around. Everyone was friendly and I had no problems. I would go again if I were in the area. Next time I’ll get the Birria tacos or the ribeye steak. Lastly, the table side preparation of the guacamole was unusually loud and annoying. A little humorous in hindsight, but annoying and startling when in the restaurant dining. Just weird.

Hearing a lot of good things about Plaza Azteca, I finally gave this place a try. When I first sat down at the bar, it took some time for a bartender to serve me. I ordered the Corona-Rita which tasted great, but I was confused because the Corona is supposed to be placed upside down into the margarita, but it wasn’t which made it very difficult to put the Corona in. Not a huge deal, but I would have liked to receive what I ordered. The bartenders were very sweet and had warm personalities, which is why they are receiving three stars. We had to ask about their happy hour since they do not have a happy hour menu and the only display of the happy hour hangs low behind stools next to the bar so it’s hard to see if people are sitting there. Their happy hour is from 4-6 for the Azteca margarita only I believe. There is some type of special that goes on all day for margaritas, but I couldn’t read the sign too well. Now onto the food. I am a lover of cheese, so I was excited to order the Sonora, which is a quesadilla stuffed with cheese, a cheese enchilada, and a burrito covered in cheese. The word cheese was just said a lot and let me tell you… the plate was COVERED in cheese. Pounds of cheese. I was very scared to eat it because I’d never seen so much cheese on a plate in my life. I LOVE to eat and so the fact my food got cold and I couldn’t finish it says a lot about how I felt. I would never recommend this food dish to anyone because your stomach will never forgive you. With all of this said, I would probably come back for the drinks and to maybe try one of their other dishes that doesn’t involve cheese. I do love the fact that they have some vegetarian and vegan options!

Today I took another chance and went back to plaza after a previous bad experience. I called my order in this time and was put on hold. I was on hold for 11 mins to order a burrito and Mexican fried rice. The person I was speaking with to take my order didn’t understand that I just wanted ground beef rice and beans on the burrito. Fair enough as I was now at the establishment to place the order face to face. I also explained to the male host that I have been on hold now for 14 mins and no one has gotten back to me. He really wasn’t to sympathetic regarding the hold so I just went on and placed my order. I stayed on the phone now 18 mins and still no one came back. Placed order and nothing was right. On the menu it states the Mexican rice comes with cheese I added chicken and shrimp with grilled veggies. This 26 dollar meal came smushed in the smallest container and also did not have any cheese on it. I also order a side of guacamole for the burrito and was provided the large size. I made it clear I just wanted a side of guacamole. As a patron who has been coming to Plaza for well over 6 years service has definitely declined. No accountability was taken and my orders were incorrect. Moving forward I will not be visiting this establishment. For context there is a picture of the container the burrito is in and the smaller container is what the 26 dollar Mexican rice was in.

My husband and I went here on a Tuesday night for the first time in February. We were extremely pleased with our server Darwin and had the best service possible. Friendly, smiled, confirmed our order, easy to understand, suggested great items, refilled chips/salsa and drinks without asking and more. We ordered the small cheese dip and even though it was in a small container, it had a lot! The salsa is SOOOO good with chunks, flavor, cilantro. My husband ordered a burrito with mango sauce on top and he loved it! I ordered the chicken fajitas and said no onions at all, only peppers and they listened and he also suggested regular tomatoes instead of pico. The rice is the darker orange and the beans are pinto. Comes with 3 soft tortilla shells but you can get more. I also got the Azteca margarita and it was tasty. We will be back to try more things. The decor was cute and definitely Aztec like!

I love Plaza Azteca! I love it so much that my friends took me here for my birthday! The food is consistently delicious! My order is a little complex and they always get it right! Their white salsa and white cheese sauce are so good! Make sure you try some! The guac was also delicious and made very mild for the table as we requested! The cocktails were yummy! My peach margarita was delicious! They came in both 12 and 22 oz sizes with a variety of tequila options! For dessert they brought out a plate of warm churros and ice cream with a happy birthday sparkler and gathered to sing happy birthday in Spanish! I still can't believe this is a chain! The food is authentic and delicious every time and the pricing is so reasonable considering the location! They have excellent lunch specials 7 days a week! So many delicious things to try!

Plaza Azteca has been here for years and I finally stopped in for lunch. We sat at the bar and immediately got free chips n salsa, which was nice. Chips needed salt but the salsa had a nice kick. For my main I got the chicken tacos, which were bland. Even with avocado, pico and cheese they didn’t taste great. The chicken was overcooked and dry. My friend got the chicken fajita burrito and enjoyed it. The rice and beans were tasty. We got an Arnold Palmer and were charged $6 for it, $3 for the lemonade and $3 for the iced tea. When I asked the server, she apologized and took it off. I don’t always check the receipt that closely, so be aware! Overall, I wouldn’t come back due to the food lacking flavor. The decor is also very outdated and could use some upgrades.
