Federal Donuts & Chicken Willow Grove — Restaurant in Upper Moreland Township

I guess you have to give a star…. This was the worst “doughnut” experience I ever had. I live in Drexel hill and work in Fort Washington. (First time for me) so When I heard there was a federal doughnut not far from my job my mouth watered and I started “tasting” a jelly filled or Boston cream doughnut as I was driving in…. NOT! They are a one dimensional shop —- only standard iced doughnut . No filling injected doughnuts. The two I bought came to $5.30. That is 2.65 a piece. THAT’s CRAZZZZYY. They were bland tasting and dry. I complained to the workers I drove all the way for “This”…. No variety. They wouldn’t even make eye contact with me. They knew this was sad. I left upset. I told my coworker and he said the quality and size of chicken sandwiches got smaller too. He laughed and told me “they fry the doughnuts in chicken grease”. He laughed at me. 1st time @ this location. It was at least 8 staff behind the counter & in the kitchen area getting paid to stand around with 2 people actually working. I do appreciate the business having staff though. Kudos for having staff show up & no one was rude. With that being said, when I arrived there was No one in line & I went straight to the register. I ordered 2 salads & 2 hot chocs. I understand they accept online orders but damn...20+ minutes for 2 bowls of lettuce 🧐 unacceptable. The lemon ricotta, WAM! So good. The hot chocs came right out & was so good. Big Up to whomever made them! I can't see myself returning to this location for anything other than the a hot chocolate because why did it ever take almost 30 minutes for those 2 salads with all that staff standing around. My business was not valued. Brown St. location, luvs it. Midtown/CC location, they always jip you on your donut.. always check your bag...

Hi. My experience at Federal Donuts was not a bad experience in terms of the food quality, or Customer Service, cleanliness, etc. My critique is the Donut Menu. The entire Menu is Cake Donuts. I can get a Cake Donut anywhere. I was looking for a new Donut spot to go, and Federal unfortunately is not the spot. I realize that Federal is popular, and has quite a following. But to me, it's not a Donut Shop because of the Menu or lack thereof. A Donut Shop has Raised, Cake, Filled, Long Johns. You give me that, you get my business.
