This place has so much to offer. You could literally take the whole family there and everyone would leave happy. If you're bored and are looking for somewhere to go (alone or with your family), Nut Tree Plaza has something for everyone. A bit of caution here though, there are plenty of stores that have very affordable items and some places even offer free entertainment for the kiddos, but there are also places that are WAY overpriced. Try and get an idea of what a store is about and the price range before you wander in there with your children (or yourself and your bank account for that matter ). The playground is awesome with lots of things to climb, swing, and play with. There isn't really any shade there though, so if it's very hot out, I'd either avoid it or make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen, and water for the little ones. The train ride for your children is about $5... kind of pricey for a ten minute ride in a circle, but my son loves it. The small Jelly Belly store is really cool and super affordable. Fenton's is great (but be prepared for a bit of a wait in the summer months). APRICOT HILL BOUTIQUE is one of my absolute favorite clothing stores in the area. Yes it's a little pricey, yes it's on the smaller side as far as selection, but you will not be disappointed in the items there. If you live around Nut Tree, or are just in town for a visit, try and get over there to check it out. You won't...
Read moreLots of good shopping.. Big Stores.. Michaels, Best Buy, Petco, Cost Plus World Market etc.. a couple of smaller stores that are fun to check out. So disappointing though that its associated with the Nut Tree name. Call me nostalgic, but the Nut Tree was a symbol of Vacaville and neither the family nor the city cared to keep the heart of Vacaville beating. Instead its just an extension of the overpriced Factory Stores. They tried to keep the fun alive for kids with the once working amusement park, but with the millions of excuses I've been given... from they can't afford the insurance, no ones wants to invest, its not profitable enough for the city, yada yada yada... they have the train and the carousel. Probably a good 30 minutes and its time to move on... So sad. I miss the toy store, the Fruit & Nut Shop, and the train ride to the Airport (which there is no longer access to). I realize things can't stay the same but this was not an improvement! More...
Read moreWell! I remember the old " Nut Tree"...I used to take my children there quite a bit. And, while things have changed, I would totally recommend this for about 2 hours to keep the children happy. There is a Carousel, and the Nut Tree Train, there is a small park, they provide Chalk for the kids to be creative on the hardware. There are many places to eat, from Sushi, Italian, Hawaiian, Mexican and American. There are loads if little shops and boutiques. Fenton Creamery is there, if you want to have lu ch or just an ice cream. There is a Jelly Belly outlet, an Ulta, See' s Candy, T-Mobile store, Best Buy, Old Navy, Homegoods, BevMo...etc. The tickets are $4 each fir the train, and $4 fir the child only on the Carousel ( the parent or guardian are welcome to accompany the child at no charge). There is shade, and benches...you could easily take a picnic out there if you wanted to! AND, as an added plus. ..their public restrooms are...
