Koi Express Hibachi & Sushi (Monte Vista) — Restaurant in Vacaville

Koi has great food, this post isn’t about that but more so on the service. I placed an online order for a later time pick up (after I got off work). When I walk in tell them my name for the order, the older gentleman who usually takes orders asked if I ordered through door dash, I told him no and showed him how I ordered (which was through their main site) he then shows me his screen and it says cancelled. Proceeded to tell me a woman came in saying someone used her card for an order saying it was my order (I don’t even know how that is possible) so I pulled my card out and showed them that my last 4 numbers on the order match so that lady was wrong. They didn’t have my order obviously. The man offered to make my food and I declined because how unprofessional was it of them to not verify her card number to my order before canceling. 1st Time trying Koi Express Hibachi & Sushi This review is only on their Sushi rolls. Rolls are on the small side ordered a Rainbow, Tiger, American, spicy tuna, spicy crab, and salmon avocado. Pick up was ok only slightly behind on the order. Staff was friendly restaurant seemed clean. Really wanted to like them but, sadly it was sub par sushi. Presentation food looks great but, sadly it falls short. Do not order the spicy tuna awful we threw it out. In conclusion small portions, sub par in taste/quality/texture. Also Pricey compared to other better spots in town. Really hate leaving a bad review but, got burned by people hyping this place.. Won't return much better...

Honestly, highly dissatisfied and disappointed with the lack of quality in this food. Im confused at the 4.8 rating this restaurant has because the food doesn't match the rating what so ever. Literally some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice looked old. Was mushy and glossy. Nothing seemed fresh. Creamy tuna filling. Imitation crab. Etc. The hibachi combo was only decent once you drowned it in the sauce they provide you to help give the food some life. I guess you get what you pay for. I payed $54 + a tip. Maybe I should've ate the food first and gave them a verbal tip instead....
