I was a customer on Saturday October 30, 2021 of Store 35 located at 1195 St. Augustine Road Valdosta GA 31601. My party of 5 arrived in your establishment shortly after 1pm. We were told by the hostess that there was a 25 minute wait. We didn’t mind the wait because we were in town from Atlanta for a football game and had leisure time to spare before we had to head to the game. In the promised time frame, we were seated and this is where ALL of the problems began!
We waited for nearly 30 minutes before a server ever acknowledged our presence. However, upon her gracing our table, she proceeded to apologize and tell us that she was new and unaware that our table was her responsibility. It was now near 2:15pm so we accepted her apology and gave her our drink orders and food orders at the same time with an attempt to speed up the process since we had already waited a very long time. At that point the drinks were immediately brought to the table. But unfortunately, it gets worse! At 3:00pm we had not received any refills on our empty glasses or any food!
At this point, I got up from my seat and headed to the host stand to request a conversation with management. Upon my first conversation with management, I spoke to an African American woman who presented herself as part of the management team. She listened to my complaint, apologized and advised that she would send the server out to refill our glasses, she promised that our food was coming out and she stated that she would take care of our check for the trouble. This would have been a great gesture if we actually received all of our food! There were several items missing from our order. To include the pot pie that my mom ordered, never came to the table at all. All of our glasses were left empty, to include, we ordered pancakes and French toast and yet no syrup or any other condiments were brought to the table! And after waiting 5 minutes in hopes that the other missing food items and condiments were coming to the table next, I made the decision to get up from the table AGAIN to go ask for management!
As I made my way back to the hostess stand, I asked for a manager again and this time I was presented with someone different. A Caucasian man who exited the kitchen approached and I expressed my concerns. It was only later that I found out that, Mr. Tony Mosteller was the General Manager. However, after hearing my complaint, he rudely proceeded to tell me that our server was new and they were “doing the best they could do.” He also in a very rude nature and tone proceeded to tell me that our food was already sent to our table suggesting that I had no reason to complain. And it was at that point that I interjected and informed him that ALL of our food never arrived! His attitude was rude, condescending and disturbing to be that of a general manager! Because of his temperament and our conversation reaching a disrespectful tone, I realized that I wasn’t going to get any resolve to what should’ve been a delightful dining experience. Therefore, my family and I left. I have never experienced such a horrible situation while dining out! If it is your company’s practice to treat guests this way, I will advise every one that I know and meet to NEVER patronize a...
Read moreTop worst “customer service” experiences I’ve ever had, courtesy of manager Eric. Neither I, nor my family, will return to a Cracker Barrel. DO NOT ORDER PICK UP from his location, 100% chance it will be wrong.
While travelling with our two dogs, we submitted a pickup order from this restaurant. When I arrived to pick up our order, we were missing a full meal order, vegetable soup was spilled all over the inside of the bag, all over the silverware and biscuits, and it looked like the bag had been kicked instead of carried to the front of the store. I returned to the store, asked to speak to a manager and explained the problem. She returned 10-15 minutes later with a repackaged bag, still missing a complete order of meat biscuits. I explained my frustration with the delay, which had defeated the whole purpose of submitting a pickup order. She returned to the kitchen, and a while later, Manager Eric returned with another bag of food.
Eric is the most unprofessional, condescending and ill-mannered manager I’ve ever encountered. He came out to the store area, in front of customers and employees with a chip on his shoulder. I attempted to explain the situation multiple times, and he interrupted me multiple times. When I held my hand (the common gesture for “let me finish my sentence”) he raised his voice and yelled “DON’T POINT YOUR FINGER AT ME, MA’AM!” I looked in the bag to check the order, I discovered that this bag contained the second order of meat biscuits, but was now missing the order of soup. I made the comment “Y’all are killing me here”, and Eric moved closer to into my face, and in a taunting way said “What’s the matter, ma’am? Didn’t you order two orders of meat biscuits?”. At this point, I asked for a refund, as I had already wasted 30 minutes in the restaurant. Eric SNATCHED the bag of food from me and sent me back to the car for my debit card. I returned to the car to retrieve my debit card, and asked my husband to go back into to the store for a refund. When my husband returned, he learned that Eric had sent me to the vehicle unnecessarily because he didn’t even need the debit card to issue a refund.
On top of the poor service from whoever is packing up to-go orders (despite a hefty tip IN ADVANCE), this type of behavior from a manager is absolutely unacceptable and quite frankly, disgusting. This is the guy who was sent out to resolve a situation, which was the fault of Cracker Barrel, and instead humiliated me in front of multiple people, added 45 minutes to our trip (plus 45 minutes to locate and order food from another establishment). After looking at some google and yelp reviews, I learned these types of situations are normal for this particular Cracker...
Read moreI was so disappointed by the experience that I had at Cracker Barrel in Valdosta on October 30, 2024. My father is a disabled veteran with a prosthetic leg, and requires a walker. We had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We were there at 3:30 in the afternoon, with no waiting line, and very few diners in the restaurant. When someone finally came over, I asked if we could sit at the table right inside of the dining room. With my fathers disabilities it is hard to walk long distances. The lady immediately stated that she did not have someone working in that section much longer, he was going to go home. I asked if it would be possible to have someone else come from another section to accommodate his needs. She immediately got loud and said I will see. Then the manager came over, which I never asked for and I explained to him that I wanted to be seated at that table because of the disability of my father, and he again stated that he wasn't sure anyone could wait on us there. I said wouldnt it be easier to have us sit there and someone with two good legs make the journey to wait on us, and he said oh maybe. Well we did sit there and a wonderful waitress came over to wait on us. The food was subpar, and that is not like Cracker Barrel either. Long story short the original waiter in that section did not even leave until we had finished our meal. Also during the time wer were there the rude lady from the beginning of the story made sure to tell everyone in the back of the restaurant about what happened, as if I had asked for something unreasonable. I am pretty sure she was some sort of manager which is ridiculous. With all of this said, it is sad that Cracker Barrel does not train their staff or managers in the rules of law, regarding guests with disabilities. The fact that she could see his missing leg and the strength it took just to get to the tables in the first place should have had her acting respectfully and seeing how she could serve a guest. The art of this is lost on the location in Valdosta. I would suggest some serious retraining here. Also a lesson or training on the law when dealing with a person with...
